I had great great time...and thanks to Brain, Mark, Arden, Dennis and Chris for their work.

Every one was rocking through the D and Chris and Darren went back home with a free helicopter. Brain was doing breath taking "Knife-Edge" corn cutting maneuver, but... Food was the best so far this year...juicy and tastly.

Cong. to our new auto king "Kay". We will work out more difficult criterias to stop you next year, i.e. hxxexxng axxo and hit the spot (hang time+accuracy). But I will not do auto shot out next year, budy. hahahaha....

But, the only thing not perfect was the Conquest is not on my hand....Hey Brain! it was not followed our plan we agreed on... I will call you tomorrow. Did I forget anyone else? Oh yet!!! Arden, nice to see you back on the heli pad.

As of 3:00 am, jus finished making sure battery more secured and check pitch on NHP and clean it up. Ready for another Heli Day!! Toronto R/C heli Fun Fly was the "most fun" fun fly I attended this year. I will smile while I sleep tonight.

Awesome day, never saw so much action. David,Chris,Robert,Kevin,Mark,Brian,Darren and anyone i missed, i hope you don't mind, but i will defietily be asking for a lot of tips from now on
Now, whoever missed Darren doing that extreemly low roll to the ground (grass was cut ) i will have the video to robert ASAP but unfortunately i have limited resources as a teenager and that means that the video will probably be available for download next weekend and i apologise for this
Robert, i accidentally took the ch 26 pin and i will bring it by during the weekend probably on saturday. Silly me

Great funfly and great food. The sky was not really cooperating till my mom showed up and i had to go (got in two flights). I enjoy this hobby not only for the flying, but also just sitting around with great people and talking about helis. This hobby rocks!

Hi Guys,

thanks for the congratulations, I am still on that high... feeeeels so gooooood....
Well David, I guess we will meet again to figure out the meaning of consistency right ???
By the way, I did not steal your move, I am just perfecting it
I would still like to know who was second and third place and how far off. Certainly,
I had a great time, thanks reach out to all that organized the Fun fly.
I can picture, the Toronto guys gearing up now for a mercyless auto and 3D war with
the Twister Guys.

Hey Sluggo,
I was out at our field today and did a couple more inverted ones and stolen moves such
as hovering ones. I hope I left a good impression with our two JR boys Mike and Billy.
Ph.D Steven was at the field already, doing his normal routine of 180 degree ones and
cool FAI moves, silky smooth as usual.

greetings to all fellows

Kay

...and keep'm spinning

Kay 8", Bob00 8 1/2", Both Chris and David blew it on single auto's that were +15' away, if only they hadn't thrown out the one they called the practice auto they may have been in contention and the same for Mark.

I lost my infamous tag line.

Thanks for a great funfly guys - it was 9pm and dark, most of us were out of fuel and still nobody wanted to leave.

Yesterday's flying was THE MOST radical 3D flying ever seen in Toronto. Milles and Furys ruled the airspace over Markham yesterday. Chris (sluggo) was in full sim mode all day and layed the smack down BIG time with his Mille. Darren answered back with a BIG can of whoop-ass - it was a hell of a show.

Congrats to Kay (KCT) for winning the auto contest by 1/2" - you rock man, gonna practice for you next time

Good stuff all involded - I'll have pics up later.

Hope to have some vids of yesterday's highlights up sometime this week.

1. Darren - death spiral with pull-out at less than 1 ft in 2 ft tall hay - the Fury disappeared in the hay - it was gone - then it was back and yep, he meant to do that

2. Darren - nose down knife-edge pass across the field with blades cutting the grass - the short grass < 1" - don't think he'll ever do that one again

3. Chris - knife edge piro at about 6 ft of the deck - this too was intentional

4. Chris - LOW travelling forward flip - blades cut short grass - again one time only

A&J's Arden few his new Mille/OS70 for the first time. This guy has gotten many, MANY guys started in the shop parking lot (including me), but has not flown his own heli for 5 years. He was inverted and whipping around after the 3rd tank. He had so much fun he came back after dark to fly some more.

Thanks to Brian, Mark, Chris and Dennis for making it happen. Darren, Chris, Kevin, Kay, David, Mike Z., Mark, Jeff, Victor and everyone else who raised the bar yesterday - good show, you guys rock.

- Robert

Hey Robert, i have to ask, how did you find out about helis and how long have you been flying? (Actually this question goes out to everyone).

Chris, i apologise. I promised you inverted(which i did but not too the extent i was hoping for). Who will be there saturday? If anyone wants to help me setup my heli for 3d they are more than welcome. I saw Brian's 60 doing rolls and WOW, there was no overspeeding, nothing! At first i though he had a governor but i was proved wrong. Cya saturday

Victor any heli can do rolls and such with out over speeding or bogging in most cases. It all comes down to setup. You have to match your pitch curves and throttle curves to give you the right amount of throttle and pitch at the right time.

Gv-1s are great but not needed, Brians heli rolled and flipped very bad because the throttle was not set right, after tweeking the throttle and pitch curves it rolled fine as you seen.

I have been flying for almost 3 years (next spring will be 3 years). When I lived up north there was guy that hovered a old robbe miskito. I talked to him a couple times and then it started. I bought and heli and have never looked back.

Chris

P.S we can work on your heli next sat when we get to the feild.

I remember how you started as we talked on the phone. All i can say is that if you did such a good job on Brian's 60 to make me think he had a GV-1 then i can't wait for saturday. It's Tuesday and i'm looking forward to saturday LOL... I'm glad i got the wings as it feels like a good acomplishment. Loved your touch and goes chris, great stuff, you gotta show me how to do that with my 30

If i did not mention it before, I LOVE THIS HOBBY!

Victor:
My first memory of R/C anything was watching some British guys flying gliders on tv at age 6 or 7. This got me hooked - I started trying to get copies of RCM and would scale up and build some of the model plans - there used to be 3 per issue. My dad bought me a Goldberg Eaglet w/ Futaba radio when I was 13 - got my wings at 14. One day on the way to the field something very different pulled as stall turn directly above us and screamed across the field - it was some sort of Schluter heli - was now hooked worse.

2 years later I got a couple of used Kalt Barons w/ OS28FSR engines and a new Apollo? (JR) 7ch heli radio. Leaned to hover and fly around a bit w/o gyro that summer - didn't get very far.

Started flying helis again in 1999 (Nexus) and its been good since.

Nitro is addictive.

I started back in 1973 with a Schluter Heli Baby.....there is a pic of it in my gallery.. I didn't get very far with that one and also had a Schluter Cobra that I got ready to fly....Keep in mind these helis flew with NO gyros and there were only airplane radios back then, I had a Kraft Sport Series radio, I got even less further with the Cobra!!!....the crash was SPECTACULAR!!! At least a million pieces~~the fuse was fiberglass..hehehe, I gave up after that until 1999 and bought a newly built Nexus with everything needed to fly, I still have that Nexus!! I didn't fly last yr. but I'm back this yr. with my R22 and I have a couple of others waiting in the wings....er.....I mean rotors.....
