My schluter Jr. 50 II had an el cheepo futaba mechanical gyro (the cheapest one... not the 153BB). Now I run a 153BB in my x-cell graphite. =) I just bought a new X-cell pro 2k so I'll probably buy a 502 for that one. Gyros are cool, but I still feel that learning proper tail control is necessary just as it is necessary to learn to auto. know what i mean?

just once, by mistake

I had a 153bb in my first heli, and forgot to turn it back on once. They had their own power switch, you know. I did more pirouettes on that flight than in my entire flying career up to that point. It was a couple years before I ever again did that many pirouettes in a single flight. I got it down in once piece by luck more than anything else.
