SHO-PRO's first video

It does hover. Didn't go higher than 1 foot, but kitty-hawk didn't go much higher either.

Actually It was the last hover on that charge (1300 3S pack). Also I never expected much of the Shogun stock motor (400 brushed). Sorry no sound (older camera). All the matter is it does lift and it was in my garage.

Time to get some blings (CNC head & swash, BL and ESC).

Here is the video

Is this the first belt tail drive 3D Pro caught on video?

Just sent NIP CNC tail grip to RCRacer in CO. I put it in a small card board box then inside a padded envelope. First class w/ delivery comf. for $1.15 ($.60 w/o comf.)

Anyone wants to comment on how much Century charged them S/H on a similar item? They must pay their shipping/receiving guys $40/hour or the Chinese newspaper they use in packing must cost a lot.

It's 17.1 Oz. Flys much better. But I think there is a problem. My el cheapo Li-pos are toasted already. GWS pack run hot too.

The bird is grounded until BL comes in

Its Alive!!!!

Those GWS lipos don't have a high enough 'C" rating to lift that weight heli. Plus the stock brushed motor draws a lot. You need a set of TP 3s1p 1320 pro lites.

Flying in that garage is an accident waiting to happen. You need to get it out in the open so you can fly "3 mistakes" high!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice work you gotta love the hobby........

Should that be "garage fryer" instead of "garbage flyer"

Believe or not, after I trim the bird and lost the weight of the training gears (hate to say bye-bye to my beloved training wheels), the Sho-Pro flew very stable and I had more confident flying it than my FP in the garage.

And "yes". I knew those packs have too low of C ratings. I bought them for 3D Pro, not my Sho-Pro. The next best thing I have is my 15C 2000 Kokam packs from my cars. That sucker will put 2 more Oz. on my bird. I will get BL motor first and see what's the best Lipos for the Sho-Pro.

Until then, it's grounded.

Hi, look at the # of views. It's close to 2000 now. We better do a good job. Otherwise a lot of people will be disappointed.

Other than the tail, I like the 3D Pro. It's hard to beat for the price and quality of the kit. After we are done with the tail mod we better come up with the manual of how to put everything together from a kit.

The tail does work too, until a tail strike. For 3D pilots, when they crash, not much can be savaged, so they don't care as much. We poor little 3D hoppers. We just have to keep on learning and paying Century for tail parts unless we come up with a good tail mod.

I am glad things have slowed down a little bit. Now I can focus on preparing for my trip. By the time I come back, you guys should have this belt mod flying everywhere, and Ihobby Expo will has taken place so if Century release any blings at the micro-heli world cup they would be out already and interesting to see.

So far this has been the most fun I had with RC stuff. Making my own mods, flying inside, flying outside, helping people and getting helps on-line, share my toys with my son, what a blast! Later guys!

To be continued ....

I know who that is, he showed me his HB some time ago, I was hooked but didn't accept it at the time. We used to Race RC trucks in the past before he got into the Heli's.

I have not talked with Mike in some time, he always has the best stuff and blings !! I am sure you got a good deal. The hornet he had was pretty cool and tricked out.

Later

Must fiddle with everything!

I'm glad to see you have past the torch regarding this project. I have been missing in action with school work. It is good to see that you guys are pushing forward with this belt conversion idea. Once everybody's doing it, and successful with it, Century would probably come out with a kit on their own. We have been begging for a belt drive conversion for several months now from Century. I don't know, they may have one in the works, but to me, they seem to be reactive on some topics such as this instead of proactive. But you guys know my motto, "If there is something you want, don't sit back and wait for it, simply make it yourself".

Keep pressing on with the discovery guys, I applaud you.

Garage-flyer , keep up the good work.
