Hi guys, i've recently bought a honeybee ccpm heli which is the ARTF package. Since there is no forum for it on RR, i posted on the T REX forum. There KevinR suggested that it's similar to the blade so i should post here. My problem is that the heli just won't lift off . The servos seem to work fine, the head speed also seems ok and since it's supposed to fly straight out of the box, i don't know what the problem is. I'd appreciate ur opinions on this!

Hi. Does your heli have a head/shaft retaining pin? If so, is it broken? Does the main gear turn when you rotate the head assembly? How about the pitch? Do you see the pitch of the main rotors increase when you give collective for the lift?

Sounds to me like it could be a sticky collective. From what ive read here http://runryder.com/helicopter/t184463p1/ the setup on the blade and the honeybee are almost the same.

Power up the heli with the throttle stick at half, and the throttle trim at full up, to keep the heli from arming.

Then, work the throttle stick back and forth (keep your eye on the arming light and be sure it stays red) and see how much pitch you are getting, and also see if you are getting smooth pitch movement or not.

Check the BLADE FAQ on Horizon's website for some tuning tips. Basically, make sure your pitch slider is working free on the main shaft, and that the flybar isn't binding on the sides of the rotor head when applying a slight twisting force..

Also check the blade grips for any stickiness.

PS - I also just picked up a slightly used Honeybee CCPM pretty darn cheap - I may use it for BLADE spares, or just fly it with reckless abandon ....
