My Posts This: Topic  Forum		What 5 point pitch degree is best for the ECO 8 for just normal flying. No stunts or anything.

Im running a H8 Motor from Ikarus with Lexors H40 Brushless speed controller and 22t pinion. I have a JR XP6102.

At mid stick the Pitch should be at 0 correct?

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		For normal flying I wouldn't want zero pitch at mid stick - you're looking at about a -3 to +9 pitch range generally speaking for that & I personally like it to be pretty linear.

But a lot of this is up to personal preference, as long as you have the pitch range correct - set it up how you like it.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		i have mine set to -10 through to +10.5 without it being limited.

i have set my transmitter up so that i have - 5 to 10.5 i like to have 0 degrees at mid stick as this is how i learned to fly on the sim so it it was what im used to.

i like my throttle to be a little twitchy though so i would go for about +8 to +9 degrees on the top end and about -2 to -3 degrees on the bottom end (basically agree with the other posts) if you havnt flown helis before then id probably go with the lower figures.

my pitch curve == 25 / 25 / 50 / 75 / 100
throttle curve == 0 / 40 / 95 / 97.5 / 100

i have an 11 tooth pinnion on mine though but im sure i flew the same curves as this.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		ive flown helis before. I have a Corona 120 but this is my upgrade to CP. I just got done repairing the ECO cause I left throttle hold on one day and it shot up and well wrecked.

So im trying to figure out what I should use for settings. If I left my throttle curve at 0/25/50/75/100 would that be fine for right now?

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		That won't work for throttle, you'll have very low rotor rpm over most of the range - the whole idea of the throttle curve is to keep the headspeed constant, you need a lot more throttle down low to accomplish that. A tach would come in very handy, you'll have a hard time without it.

Personally I use governer mode on my Phx 45, makes the initial setup much easier - let the controller worry about the rpm, as long as you've got a good setup in the first place (proper pinion for your battery & motor combo, plus the pitch range correct).

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Ok so it would be best to use governer mode for constant head speed. I have it on controller mode or should I just change my throttle curve settings?

One last question my little manual that came with my ESC which is a Lexors H40 from ikarus. It says for controller mode connect the servo lead to the throttle channel of your reciever.
for governor mode connect the servo lead to a free channel 5 or 7.

Now if i switched it to governor mode wouldnt that make it where I cant use the internal bec on the esc?
currently I dont have a UBEC
