Anybody have pics or any info on the new HeliMax MX400? It's suppose to be the same size as the Shogun/Zoom. Alum frames, boom and belt driven tail.

Found the manual but nothing else.

Well, the heli pictured there looks like a T-Rex XL HDE to me. But, if the specs are true, and it has the metal frames, it's probably a relabeled ARC X400, which is pretty similar to the T-Rex to begin with. At any rate, it's good to see these, if it is a relabeled Rex, it'll be easier to find parts for my T-Rex!

I pre-ordered one thru the LHS and the CCPM upgrade. Hope it is like the X-400, it sounds like that one is a great machine. I like that it has metal side frames. Suppose to be out the 1st half of August! Hope that sticks.

MX-400 are out

We got our first x-400 at the store today. It was very nice looking. It does have metal side frames. The overall looks are great. I think I will get one when we get another one in. Customers come first. I will probally order the ccpm conversion kit also.

I saw one flying last night. It had metal side frames and the head looked a lot like the T-Rex HDE setup. It seemed to perform well doing sport/beginner flight. The owner was very happy with it, he said it is smoother flying and shows better construction out of the box than his T-Rex. He was running a brushless motor with 2100 mAh TP Prolites.

I have one of the MX400's from helimax. It flies great. And yes, they are nothing more than a re-labled ARC X-400. All of the parts are the same. That means that you do not have to wait for Great Planes or Tower Hobbies to get the up-grade parts in. There are plenty of places to get X-400 parts. I would suggest that you replace the main head block with metal parts as soon as possible. The plastic ones break way too easy. I am waiting on parts as we speak. I have upgrades ordered and extra parts for repairs ordered as well. You can get parts from Grandrc.com or deeteeenterprises.com. They seam to have the best parts selection. I will add the CCPM up grade as soon as I can get one. The other thing is to check out www.x400tuning.com for info on setup and other ideas. Hope you have fun with this heli.

Mx400 motor/esc

I just got mine a few days ago from the LHS. Reading thru the instruction manual it recommends using the heli-max motor and 25amp esc. Has any one had any experience with either? Any recommendations for motor/esc?

I initially bought the MX400 at my local LHS and liked what I saw.
A week later they got in the MX400 Pro with the motor and ESC already included, as well as some upgraded metal parts.
My LHS wa nice enough to take the MX400 back in as trade-in and I got the Pro version. I will be installing all the electronics this weekend and look forward to flying it.
