This mod has actually worked out very well for me. The Trex grips are much more tuff and have less slop... Pick up a Trex Tail Holder Set $6.80 and flatten the ball links as shown in pics... I just used my trusty Dremel... but a file and drill should also work.. then bore out the holes so they are wide enough to fit the screw..

No washers needed between the grips or the hub. and no wag they track better..

If anyone needs more detail.. or needs more info .. just let me know.

Did you used the 3D Pro tail lades or the T-Rex ones. And is that the 3D pro hub? Do those bearings come with the T-Rex grips and if not what size are they. Thanks!

Alternate parts for 3D Pro ?

Hi,
I've seen a couple of posts where people are using alternate parts to Century 3D Pro items.
Someone is using T-Rex parts with suitable modification.
I had a look at part prices for the T-Rex & can see they are much cheaper than Century.

T-Rex have a nice set of CComposite Tail fins which could easily be added to the 3D Pro boom.
Also, T-Rex wooden blades are so cheap too. Would it be follish to use T-Rex blades on a 3D pro ? (I'm a beginner!)

Anyone else got items they use off other suppliers ?

Would be interesting to hear.

To be honest.. I can't remember?? I am pretty sure they are either shogun or x400 stock blades because there white... I like to trim about 7mm of each tip and then rebalance them. The tail blades for Trex, shogun, x400 & elite pro are all almost identical in size. I think the thickness at the base is wider for trex. But have interchanged between models.. with little problems.

As for the hub... I am using the trex hub .. "mainly because I like the larger set screw instead of that tiny 3d pro version" But both hubs will work just fine on either grip. They are almost idenical... and Yes, the bearings are included with the trex tail blade grip set ... Set = (grips, hub, bearings & all screws needed) see pic.

yes... many generic items can be modified to work on the elite pro. I have used ark x400 landing gear and fins.. boom supports etc.. But, I would not recommend trying to use the Trex blades on a stock elite pro.. You would need to extend the tail boom. I have tried using the shogun size blades 280mm and they were a bit long... Trex 305mm would be much much to long for stock elite pro.

FYI... spares for the ark x400 are just as cheap as the trex and are closer in size to the elite pro and shogun. I love using the tail fin set and boom supports on my shogun and 3d pro. The x400 TAIL STABILIZER SET is only $5.50

how do the x 400 landing gear work for the pro??
what mods-- if any to get them to fit??
do you have to put spacers on top of them for mounting??
they seem to be lower then the orig. 3dpro landing gear.

sorry if this has already been addressed.

thank you
