Well at last!! Here is the Electric Converted Lama 30 on a mission at the Vario Scale Day. It's is at the end of the event with all of it's set-up issues sorted and flying really nicely for the first time in a strong wind.
I will try and do a final build-up post and thoughts about the conversion when I have had some proper fun with this model.
I have now flown it for a total of 80 mins outside but only 20 mins with the new set-up and I have to say that so far I really like this heli. The performance and the chop from the 3 bladed head and tail are terrific!
And there is even a video in blackhawk UK s gallery under Lama zip or at the page below.
http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/gallery/13430/ I must add at this point that this was the Lamas first ever windy day TEST fight and things got off to a shaky start because I was fiddling with my rate switches.
Why make things worse with the under slung load? Well as I said before, if you are gonna crash testing a heli at a show, just do it with style!
I also flew too fast for scale because I wanted to keep my airspeed up for this test flight, and get an idea of the electric Lamas performance.
