G'day my Hirobo Brethren.

How do you guys go about doing this in the shortest amount of time possible?

Last time I broke in my C-Spec PS after a rebuild over 4 tanks, this is what I did;

1) Very rich, did some hovers with rests on ground inbetween progressing to slow circuits.
2) Medium speed circuits over whole field, leaned a few clicks.
3) FAI aeros & soft 3D. Didn't touch needles.
4) Harder 3D, leaned a few clicks. Went full throttle.
After that, needles were pretty much set & reactivated GV-1 to 1850rpm.

Am planning to do the same with the YS.

What do ya guys reckon??

Btw my mate said stuff that, he did low inverted on the 2nd tank! Also read that Curtis does 3D straight away but keeps it rich & doesn't load it up too much in the beginning.

Also down here we put in new bearings every 80-100 flights or so along with new piston rings & anything else that is worn out. So to break-in over 20 flights is a waste of engine life!

G'day!
Run it rich, use the manual break in settings, dont load the engine as much as you would once its broken in.
(ok the manual break in settings might be slightly on the too rich side, but start with them).
I do run full throttle when breaking my YS in and the same rpm as I intend to use once they are broken in, but not with the same load and richer than normal.

Good luck!

Jason Krause talks about breaking in his engines on his site. Check it out. Run it rich like Noodles said and after three or four tanks start leaning it in. Very easy to break ys engines in.
