HIROBO Turbulence - SDX - Freya - Sceadu > X-Spec YS91 vibration?

Been flying my new X-spec this summer (when weather has allowed) and have been trying to track down a vibration issue. Everything smooth as silk until about the last 1/4 tank of fuel. Then the inside of the fuel tank turns into the "Perfect Storm". Balanced the heck out of everything. Like I said this thing is smooooooth, until the last 1/4 tank. Tonight after landing with engine still running and tank still pressurized, I noticed the tank (due to being pressurized) rubbing on the side frames, or the side frames rubbing on the tank, depends on how you look at it I guess. I'm thinking that the frame rubbing on the tank sides is inducing a vibration into the side walls of the tank causing the fuel to go nuts. When the tank has plenty of fuel in it it is a smooth a lake in there. Anyone else having a problem like this? What to do? The fuel tanks shock mounts are pretty much useless against vibration when the tank is in direct contact with the frames.

Thanks!

Try putting some adhesive foam between the frames and the tank, also slide on a piece of fueltubing on the crossmember below the tank (if you havent already done that ).
Check all bolts, I found a loose one on mine yesterday, noticed that the headertank vibrated alot on the ground - loose bolt

There's another similar thread going on in Raptorville, about the same issue. It is standard practice in YS powered planks, to put a couple wraps of 3M filament packing tape around the tank, to prevent the ballooning. YMMV.

I am hoping the new tank for the Freya EVO will be strong enough to withhold the pressure from the YS engine. My tank on my XSpec is also rubbing against the frame.

Accoring the Jason.net the E3 (600cc) tank has thicker walls to take the pressure from YS better.

It will still chafe(spelling) though. You have to file off the frames to round them.

Was a good evening for flying, so I had to prove it to myself. Flew out 2/3 of a tank or better and came in and hovered in front of me. Fuel in tank was going nuts. Landed and pulled the tank vent. Went back up for a short hover, not to long 'cause it was running a tad lean without the pressure. Fuel in tank was as calm as could be. Still not sure how to remedy this. Would be nice to fly out a whole tank. Will give the strapping tape a try I guess.

Thanks for the input, let me know if you have any other ideas.

If you are using the new 600cc tank, try the new tank support 0414-380 especially with pumped engines.

What's the part number on the new 600cc tank and will it fit the x-spec?
