Has anyone tried these dampeners from East Coast Extreme Helis? I just ordered a set and should have them in time for the weekend, but I wanted to see if anyone has any experience with them.

I had the carbon extreme ones before but they had worn out so I decided to give these a try.

On a side note: I was suprised the carbon extreme ones wore out. I guess I was under the impression that the o-ring around the dampener was the only maintenance item but the hard plastic material developed a lot of slop around the feathering spindle. Oh well...

I am running the Infinavation dampeners in two of my Evo's and love the way they fly. I have over 50 flights on mine and they are the same as the day I installed them, stable in hover and fast and crisp during 3D. Not sure what this material is they machine them out of but it really holds up. A few guys out here are running the Infinavation dampeners in there R90's with the same results.
East Coast Extreme Helis is really cool to deal with and I think the dampeners they came up with are going to do well after more guys try them. I also picked up the tail servo mount they have for the Evo and have a few flights on it. "NICE" no more goo soaking down my tail servo! Even after extreme 3D flight there is not much oil on it.

Angelo,

On your side note, how did you notice the plastic was worn on the CX dampers?

I started to notice some tracking issues (going in and out of track), so I figured it was the spindle. Replaced it and it seemed fine for a couple of flights, then the tracking issue showed up again. Pulled the spindle again, but spindle was straight. Looked at previous spindle - also straight. I pulled the dampeners out of the head to replace the o-rings that are on them, but they looked ok. I'm not sure why, but I slid the one dampener onto the spindle and noticed that I could wobble the dampener on there pretty good. Checked the dampener on the other side - same deal. I did have one spare dampener from a previous incident (only a few flights on it) and slid it onto the spindle - very tight fit. So I temporarily put in the stock dampeners and my tracking issue went away.

So, basically the spindle was a loose fit in the dampeners. Cant wait to try these new ones.

Thanks Angelo. I have them in my Evo 50 and I'm real happy. Not enough flights yet to say what the life will be. I'll keep an eye on them. Post your results on the Infinavation dampeners.

I loved my Carbon Extreme dampeners also - not sure how many flights I had on them. Probably 50-75 or so. Had them since February. Can't wait to try these new ones out - hopefully at Al's funfly.

I should have mentioned that since running the new Infinavation dampeners I have not bent a spindle in flight. I think this is due to the Infinavation dampeners compressing the o-rings against the inner hub when the blade grip and bearings are installed. The CX dampeners compress or bind the hard plastic against the inner hub. It may be better if the spindle/blade holders can float on the o-rings during flight.

Going out to hammer on mine tonight, I will let you know if anything changes.

Time to fly!
