My Posts This: Topic Forum | I bought a brand new Shuttle Plus and an OS 37 and some 550 carbon blades. The plan is it's going into a Funkey JetRanger fuselage but I wanted to test fly and work the bugs out in pod and boom.
I figured with the 37 it would fly like a scalded dog but I had troubles from day 1 with the engine holding a constant needle setting. It would take off sounding burbleing rich and then lean out until it seemed the head would want to spin off. Also the performance was on the order of my Nexus with a tired 32.
I ended up putting a header tank from a Raptor 50 on it so that the output from the header was even with the center line of the carb.
Solved the problem and turned it into a different helicopter! Now I am leaning it in and getting the power I expected without the head speed going nuts at half a tank.
BTW I replaced the clunk lines with Hayes line during the build as well as all the fuel and pressure lines with good fuel line, not that crap that comes in the kit.
I also had to goto an aluminum washout base and slider. That plastic piece of crap with the phillips screw wouldnt stay tight to the shaft no matter what I did. I guess at 200 bucks you get what you pay for. The mixing rods and flybar control are next.
