I am from Spain and own a Fury and an Avant. To me the Avant is a superior ship but I understand that this is a matter of opinions.

What it is not an opinion thing is that the proportion at the XFC is: a lot of x-cell to no Avants. What is there going on in the States that I do not understand???...

To compete at the XFC you have to have a lot of time in a machine to get used to it and practice with it until you get comfortable enough with it for competition. The Avant is too new so many of the pilots are still getting used to them. I'm sure next year you will see quite a few of them in all the competitions.

There were two Avants at the XFC.. Paul Soha flew both and crashed one.. First time I have seen one.. He did have MA heads on them though cause he was running 710 blades..

Unfortunately this is 100% true definition!

I can't see the benefit of using the MA head as the Avant head is one of the bigest improvements, at least for 3D flying, correct me if i'm wrong.

The Avant modification to the Hirobo head is awesome. It turns the machine into a real animal. The head is not the whole machine though. The Avant used a servo placement and double push pull rods from the servos to get the most response out of the machine. The carbon frames, hollow main shaft, engine and tank placement, small profile canopy and 15 other things all combine to make the machine an awesome 3D machine. The Avant is one of the quickest and fastest helis I have seen, even with the old SE head on it. The Hirobo head will do everything 50% faster than the old SE head, but I did not have enough time to work out my blade and paddle issues. I started working with the 680 blades and did not get enough to duplicate my results. (Read... I crashed my good sets shortly before the event.)

I did not have time to get set up with new blades and paddles. I reluctantly went with some combinations I knew worked with the 710 blades I had on hand. With the newness of the machine, 7th place is the best 1st round score I could do. I crashed in the second round, and went to a back up machine that I dinged twice the day before.

The 11th place overall finish does not reflect the machine, just the lack of preparation of the pilot (Me). I believe the machine will eventually be the best-engineered and most capable machine available.

I can almost guarantee that there will be a couple Avants in the final rounds next year. The machines are that good...and there is more coming.
