| I use the trim on the lower end for engine cut and don't get 100 % atv on the low end.

There's the problem (in my view), if the min & max throttle ATV's are not the same this will distort the 50% throttle openning position.
Here is how I setup the throttle:
1) Measure distance between throttle servo horn center screw and carb horn center screw - set the length of the throttle push rod to that length (this will ensure you get the 90 degrees at 50% throttle)
2) Ensure the throttle servo ball and carb ball are at same distance from center, typical 13mm
3) Turn the throttle trim all the way down and ensure that ATL is on (Futaba 9C function which means throttle trim only works at bottom).
4) Move the throttle to wide open - ensure that no binding and that carb is indeed fully open - adjust and note throttle top ATV
5) Move the throttle to full closed - ensure that no binding and that carb is indeed fully closed - adjust and note bottom ATV
6) If top and bottom ATV's are not the same, half the difference and adjust both by that amount - say 100 & 80, subtract 10 from top and add 10 to bottom so you have 90 & 90
7) Now losen the carb horn, move throttle stick to full open, turn throttle barrel to full open, tighten carb horn, go back to step 4 and recheck
That procedure will result in same max/min ATV's, 50% open position will be correct and have a 90 degree angle on the push rod
if you end up with something like 80/80 then you have move the carb throttle ball to a more inner position, say 12mm (or go to a more outer position on the servo)
For what it's worth, that's the way I do all my heli's, hth.
Cheers,
Martin...
