You should be able to use the Eagle but think you need to add the 2nd main gear & front counter gear assembly for tube drive. Ask Augusto, he would know more.
Taipan yep... I'm using the Robbe boom mount for the pipe. I ran the pipe that way on my Tempury for a while with no melting problems.
You can get the pipe overseas from cyberheli. The isn't anyone in the states that stocks it to my knowledge. Sabin at Hatori USA made mention of an 870 pipe that he makes from the U.S. market, but wasn't able to supply much specifics. The 870 also costs more than the 970. The heli on that pipe is balistic. Ask trader dave when he was doing tic-tocs with it. Climbing tick-tocs (as in 10 - 15 feet higher each time) with absolutely no degradation in head speed. The engine only has about a gallon through it so it'll make a bit more power once it's run in.
Engine aside, there really isn't a comparison between the Avant and my Tempury that I just recently sold. The avant is so much smoother and true. Aside from the collective response which amazing to say the least, it rolls better than any of helicopter that I've flown. I thought that backwards rolling circles were easy with the Fury until I flew the Avant. The machine rolls like it's on autopilot... Literally point and go flying. I'll get some video this weekend assuming the weather is good.
Thanks... Like always, Rick really came through for me. I'll try to get some video this weekend. Gotta see if a buddy of mine with a camera is available to help me out.
That looks exactly the same spec as what I am building. I just need the kit to arrive in the next few weeks. I got everything else ready.
I am currently running the standard Freya with OS CSpec and Hatori 970 + 631 header - NO GOVENOR. This is a dream combination, it works great on 20% WC and absolutely BALLISTIC! on 30%.
I get about 1900 rpm head speed. No bogging during hard flying manoeuvers - chaos, rolling backwards circles, tic tocs.
I run 7.92 gear ratio. 95T main gear and 12T pinion.
I just stuck the pipe onto the header without much thought and it worked first time. Must have been luck. The gap is about 5-8mm, but I have found that this can vary quite a bit without major changes to performance.
ron are yo coming out to cobb this weekend . i would like to see this fly , i got a new freya . waiting for the 91 mp to get here . can't wait to get it in the air. mike
