As many of you know I've been looking forward to buying a X-spec, but a friend just called and offered me a Fury for $1,200.

Specs:
Fury extreme
4 x S9252 servos
GY601
GV1
Sab 710 blades
YS91 w/Viper head
Hatori pipe.

Basically ready to fly except receiver, which I have. Is this a good deal and should I take it, or hold out and get the X-spec which will certainly cost me more?

TIA

I took a huge loss on my fury investment to buy an Xspec. I haven't looked back since. Fuel and fly the hirobo helis. Never experienced that with a MA bird.

Try and have a fly of both helis, then decide on which one your heart desires.

That's a good deal (if everything's in good shape). You'll pay over 2 grand to build one up. I fly a X-spec, an Extreme, and two Tempests. The X-cells fly extremely well. I think the eccpm setup makes for a quicker responce. If you want a fair comparision you probably would have to do an Avant conversion. I wouldn't convert an X-spec, just a plain Freya.

My two cents.

Its with deep regrets that I have to inform you I bought the Fury. Basically its a local heli that was previously owned by one of the most respected locals, and the last owner only flew it a couple times (never crashed). I hear the condition is beyond reproach. I did the math and figured out the parts alone, which I would need for the X-spec anyway, are worth the cost of the heli, and if I didn't like it I could sell the airframe and be money ahead.

I wish I could test fly both, but I'm the only Hirobo guy in town, and it was pointed out that unless we spent allot of time to set up each heli to my flying style we would not have a real basis of comparison.

But like I said: financially I can't really loose in this deal. Maybe in a couple weeks I'll report on how I like it, but my only basis of compairison would be my Evo. I have abandon my Caliber and Raptor.

Thanks for you input guys.

I heard the MA section was pretty much ousted from this site...

Where is Leander? Seems like I've there but I can't place it?

Leander is a suburb north of Austin..............on the other side of cedar park......actually, cedar park and leander are combined.
