Jan's 10s5p packs work very well. However, I'm also very happy with Kokam 10s1p 3200, which are lighter and give shorter flight times (6-10 minutes), but hold voltage under load better and stay cool. I have two packs of each.

Oh, apart from the batteries: Use the recommended equipment and build it 100% by the manual. There is nothing to improve. You will be amazed!

Hi,

You can get Jans packs pre-assembled from FP or buy the kits from Jan himself or Cyberheli. If you get the kits you save well over £50 maybe even £75.

Well I bought the kit, motor, esc, servo's etc from Revo's and my lipos from Cyberheli and didn't get charged any import tax but thats the risk you take when ordering from overseas.

Can't remember, don't think there was that much in it, also something of that value and size will definatly get customs attention.

How much have Cyberheli got it up for ? Add there price plus postage then stick it into http://www.xe.com/ucc/ gives you a good guide price, then compare it too Revo's but remember this is if it get through without import tax.

Hi all,
I know it's changing the subject slightly, but I'm also pretty close to buying an MP myself and just wanted to know what sort of chargers people are using to charge the 10s5p li po's. I'm new to electric and getting a bit confused of things like balancer leads & what they do etc.

benz19, I also live in Birmingham and would be interested in seeing your 3DMP when you get it if you don't mind.

Thanks Simon109, when you say with Mass power supply, what do you mean? Can't the chargers be plugged into a power socket at home or a car cigarette lighter socket?
Forgive me if I seem a bit stupid, but this electric route is new to me and I want to make sure I fully understand everything befote I shell out a lot of money on a 3DMP.

I'm using the 40A version, expensive but worth the money.

Yep definatly, love mine. Waiting on a part for mine at the moment so haven't flown it for over a week. The good thing about the MP is it flies superb you don't need no fancy anodised bits

When you get the kits it looks a bit scary, but once you get going it's pretty easy.

Another battery option is to get TP 10s2p prolites.
They're a bit lighter tham Jan's reccomended packs and seem to hold the voltage a little better.
Another benefit of the 10s2p, but that's just my personal opinion, is that the total cell count is much lower (20 instead of 50) and so the risk of having an unbalanced pack is lower.

With the ProLites, you don't get the CoG right.

I hate flying a tail-heavy helicopter.

that's just a urban legend...
I can get the C.G. right under the main shaft and even 1cm foreward if I wish...
