I am about to install the machined gears in my Evo 50. Now that I that I have the one way bearing out is there any maintainance that I might as well perform on it before reassembling the heli?

Regards

Pack the autorotation hub with grease. This will help the bearing last longer. For more info, look here ->http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/...ighlight=Grease

I have read Augusto's article about greasing the one way. However, on my Evo the one bearing is stuck pretty hard in the plastic case holding it. Do i need to remove it (and how) or just pack grease in the round holes surrounding the bearing?

The bearing should come out if you push it from one side. If it won't push out one way, try pushing from the other side. The reason for the grease modification is to let the bearing center properly on the shaft. If it's too tight then it won't be able to properly center.

Hmm forget my lest post. I just went and tried again and it just fell out. Feeling a bit stupid now. I swear I tried real hard to push it out both ways. Oh well it came out.

Thanks

another thing. I was having blade go out of track. A mate found a ball on the pitch arm that was moving under load. seems like the edges of the balls eventually cut into the plastic and cause a loosening of the ball.

Tightened it and all tracking issues gone. checked them all and they were all heading the same way. originally installed with CA.

I was told to modify them from a reliable source. Buy the freya washer set ($2) and install them under the balls. no more loosening off. The washers are very small.

Tighten the plastic hub screws to the mast. Mine were loose even with locktite.

Check your swash. The swash cracks around the ball ends. I swapped my aileron side the other day due to this. Next time I will tap those holes out. (actually I bought quick UK swashes as the original hirobo ones need redesigning and tightening up) Raptor lovers.....don't tell me you have metal swashes from the get go......they are crap too! Slop from day one in the one I had.

Tighten your radio mount plate. Mine loosened off.

The lower bearing walks out of the lower mast mount. I glued mine into the plastic better the second time with CA.

Do the grease pack although the plastic hub has more give in it than the ali one.

These are some of the maintainence issues on my last look over I found. May help. dunno.
Cheers
Glenn
