?????!?!?!?!????!!

Huh? Has anyone out there lost half a flybar on an EVO 50 before?

Was doing some backwards loops in front of myself when going over the top the heli seemed to bog really badly and strangely (weird sound) and then the heli felt weird and wobbly and it looked like the blades were out of track ( I thought I bent the spindle! ) Anyway, landed and after a very wobbly spool down I saw the the flybar had broken right where it meets the control arm. WEIRD! The thing still flew was just kinda of vibey. I never saw it leave the heli - which is strange!

So anyone had this happen before on an EVO? I guess I was beating on it too hard for too long - gonna start changing those flybars regularly!

Sheesh! I got lucky!!!

Hadn't seen that one - missed it, but still shouldn't for the EVO this discussion be here?

Breaking flybars is fairly common no matter what make of model you fly. The Hirobo fly bar does seem to be more resiliant than most though and I know a couple of MA pilots who switched to the Hirobo flybar for that reason.

Andy,

You probably just got a bad one. I wouldn't start changing them out. It happens from time to time on a lot of models. I have only seen it first hand on a vigor and a fury. Usually hirobo shafts tend to be more on the soft side and dont break that often.

Are you saying it just broke as it exits the control arm or right where the set screw is.

Aloha Andy,

Same thing happen to me about a year ago. Nothing agressive, dang thing just broke off right where is exits the carrier. Everybody seemed to think it was a bit on the unusual side. So I guess it is rather common now.......

I managed to find the flybar in the field...needed the paddle off of it....

Unfortunately the paddle was long long gone! I never even saw it depart the heli. It was an overcast day and it was getting hard to see, but still, I should have seen somehting. All of a sudden the heli started feeling weird and wobbling.

Anywho - that was really weird!
