Anybody using it? I just purchased the conversion kit and wandering about the motor. The manual stated Hacker 50, is there more powerful motor available? I just want to make sure that I purchase the right motor. Thanks.

I have been using the conversion.

A hacker B50 XL is the motor you need. The # will depend on what type of battery you plan on using. I don't think any other motor will fit in the mount provided and make enough power. That can change as more types of motors are being made all the time.

I have been using a B50 26XL with 10s2P and 9 tooth pinion.
Power is blistering and weight is just a little less than when it was full of fuel in nitro form.

8s2p and say B50 24XL would also work.
Either way you will want to keep it as light as possible.

mudbogger2 - you say it's close in power to when it was a nitro. Are you referring to a 30 or a 50? How is the performance, can you do much with the electric?

I was referring to a 50.

It has more power than my .50 during the first 3-4 minutes and then about the same power for 2-3 more minutes.

I can do everything on the electric version that I can do on the nitro version. (even crash )

Depends on the batteries you want to use.

With 8S2P and a 9 tooth pinion it would work great. headspeed will be around 2000 at hover. An average amp draw shows to be around 25-33 amps but this will vary greatly depending on you heli's weight and flying style. The rpm drop under load shows 124 but this may vary also.

Thanks in advance.

I am planning to use 8S3P as I want to get a longer flight time. Would the B50 23XL do the job or should I go with a higher number of turn?

8S3P and B50 23XL will give the following
with the stock 10 tooth pinion 1960 rpm headspeed at hover, 26-36 amp average drain, 131 rpm headspeed drop under power estimated 10 minute flight time.

with a 9 tooth pinion 1771 rpm headspeed at hover, 26-36 amp drain,
118 rpm headspeed drop under power, estimated 10 minute runtime.

These figurs are just estimates using KC's spreadsheet so take them with a grain of salt.
Are you looking to fly 3d or just sport flying?

I am building a shuttle for scale flight in my MH-68 Stingray. I only need power for scale flight, what would be the recommended motor, and also, I am going to use NiMh packs as well. Any opinions on which wind Hacker to use? More interested in flight times than "power" Flying will be limited to hovering, FFF Thanks......
