Don't worry about boom striking the EVO. I flew for a long time hard 3D with the stock dampers and never had a problem. I have now gone to the SD-G yoke with 4 stock dampers and I don't see much difference, however it was a while since I flew the stock setup before flying the new one. I did not get the CX dampers because I heard they wobble during autos which I do a lot of. I guess the SD-G ,4 damper setup is a little stiffer than stock though because it will wobble a little every now and then during autos, where the stock dampening did not. I do have a problem though with 4 point flips, the machine ocillates each time you stop the flip, like it's being given quick forward and back cyclic. Anybody else out there experience this? And if so, is there a cure that won't cause the wobble during autos?

The CX dampners work on the stock plastic yoke to my satisfaction but on a Quick UK or SDG head this will change because the yoke won't give as much as a plastic unit. The other thing to consider is blades stiffness. I've run Mavrikk's and TT's and both blades are rather stiff with V-Blades being even stiffer. Stiff blades will transmit more force through system and when you couple that with the stiff teeter rubbers and aluminum head it can be rather less tolerant to a wide rpm range. Stiff blades translates to less blade flap and a much more rigid disk.

The instructions that come with the CX dampeners state that they are designed for a loose fit on the evo.
Does anybody know what is meant by loose fit ?

The CX dampners don't fit loosely in the head. Are you referring to the blade tightness?

Well my question is what do they mean when they say the CX dampeners are supposed to fit loosely in the instructions ?

Mine fit the head block tight, but the spindle was a loose fit through the dampeners.

On mine the spindle fit snugly in the CX dampeners but the blade grips have some side to side play as if the spindle was a couple thous too long.
It didn't do this with the stock dampeners and yes I have all the stock washers and spacers installed.

If there is side to side movement, you can shim or if it doesn't exceed .004" of an inch I would leave it.
