Which remote glow do you all use? I've been using the Thunder Tiger one and sometimes it doesn't seem it makes a good connection.. I can't get a start but if I connect a glow ignitor directly to the glow it starts fine. Are these not good remote glows?

Thanks,
J

Get the kind with the spring boot.

Works good and does not contact the head.

Hi JitsuGuy,

Make sure your path to ground is good. Check it with a meter. Same remote glow I'm using and mine works fine.

What machine are you using it on? One of the nice things about Hirobo's in my opinion is the fact that you have access to the glow plug even with the canopy on. (As long as you are using a short glow plug igniter.)

Glow wire extensions are handy, but I find that they fail on you at the darndest times.

usually i just replace the standard tip on the glow extension that goes onto the glow plug with a crocodile clip, seems to work perfectly and last forever.

I had the remote glow attached to the bottom of the frame where the rails go that you attach the skids to. Is that grounded?

I like the alligator clip idea.

No it isnt.
You need to have it connected with the engine.
Even when using of the enginemountbolts it can be a PITA to get it work. I have the remote glow mounted on the lower (right side) holding the engine on the WC enginemount.

Ricks has one made by HIROBO - I found it by looking through all the Hirobo parts. - They make two sets - one comes with the igniter and the remote parts and the other comes with just the remote setup. I must say it is the best one I have ever had and / or seen. It is very high quality ( as all Hirobo parts ) and the glow igniter is very good - it will NOT come off unless you take it off.

Have a good one...
