Ok I don’t what happen 2nd Flt on new X-spec I was about 7ft off ground just hovering around when the Aircraft went nose down and tilted left and that all she wrote. All you heard was Oh Sh** followed by a loud thug as my new 2nd Flt (no canopy) hit the ground I thought at fist that I lost radio butt I was able to turn it of on the ground.(by radio) It was very windy out And I was In a slow left turn. What could it have been" I know me Wright" butt I know I lost total control at one point. there was only 2 other at field that day none on my Freq
Sorry no pics It just hurt to much to look at her right know.

Man, I know that hurts. Sorry for your mishap.

Are you using FM or PCM?

Hello Helodad: Does the X-Spec washout arms use a screw with a tip that rides in a slot in the main shaft to maintain position? If yes, then I believe that may be your problem. If that screw backs out of the slot your cyclic phasing changes and you lose control instantly. I speak from experience, having a similar crash with my Tsurugi when it was new. Check for this screw on your X-Spec, it must be fully engaged and Loctited for the washout arms to properly operate. Let me know what you find. Thanks.

Radio lockout? I had a few radio lockouts this weekend once in the air, but I somehow got control back just before it went in... Got lucky and landed it... Made sure nobody was on my channel and spun it up after giving it a once over and at mid stick while it was still on the ground, I was locked out. Thank God it was just holding (a feature of PCM) this happened a few times. Found out that my antenna wire which was traveling next to the batter was the cause... Because after I covered it with fuel tubing the glitches went away and I had some good flights. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, you may have experienced a lockout if Blue Angel isn't correct about that screw coming out.

Do you all think it could have been do to the fact that the radio said 9.8v's it sounds low warring at 9.6. Maybe weak signal?

if it sounds 'low battery' at 9.6v, then something is
miscalibrated because 9.6 is the pack's nominal voltage.
It shouldn't throw the alarm until something lower, like maybe
9.2 or whateer.

On the 9Z, the low battery alarm doesn't go off until something
llike 8.4v.

I can change the low warning alarm volt. I just can’t think of what happen? Can the wind really flip a helo like I describe? From 7ft it flipped left almost a complete roll.

Had a problem with my Freya over the weekend lost pitch control came out of a stall turn nose in and no pitch bailed out the flight straight through a hedge and out the other side into the field beyond, not to much damage to the main parts but shredded my glass canopy, still trying to find the fault but I think it was the servo connection

Just smile
