Held the tail very well, but of course bogging the engine to much would make the tail let go.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		35% here and the only time it will blow out is in a stiff wind while trying to fly backwards at high speed with the tail at an odd angle. Sounds like you might be bogging the head and when that happens the tail rotor power is diminished thus causing it to swing out.

I have got my evo with 601 set at 55% gain in heading hold mode,with a head speed of 1800rpm using (blue colours standard) hirobo t/r blades.The gyro is in the heading hold mode & works really well.
Make sure you have inhibbited the collective/rudder mixing in your Tx or your gyro just won't perform & will make heli very very difficuilt to fly.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Here is my setup. I can not make it blow out doing anything. Very large tailslides, extremely fast backwards flight, huge knife egde drops into a roll, ect. ect.

601 set at 37% gain
Last hole on large star servo horn
Freya tail speed up gear
Freya tail blades
stock grips
stock pushrod
no horizontal fin

Looks like you may want to try the freya tail speed up gear.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		thnks i will try some new gains today and see how it goes it heli is not bogging down what i mean when i load the head is like on a fast pull out or pumping the stick piro flips that sort of thing but at no point is it bogging down

farthest out hole on Dubro servo arm (I like these arms! try em!)
stock tail (kit MAH tail blades)
Freya speed up gear (this seems to be the ticket! Before adding this my tail would blow out too. Now it holds through everything Mudbogger2 does perfectly!)

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		My Evo is equipped with the Freya front tail pulley, Mah 95's, and my 601 @ 35% in 3D mode. I'm still having problems with the tail kicking during fast sideways flight and funnels. Ran the gain range from 39% down to 32% and having a hard time getting rid of it. At 35%, it's locked at fast backwards flight.

I'm thinking about going down in blade size to see if this helps. Also was wondering if you guys fly in 3D or FAI mode?

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		3D mode, Speed up pulley, freya grips, about 34% gain, last hole on the futaba 4 star arm 1900 head speed mah tail blades. Mine doesn't care how much wind. When mine kicked out I found a failed bearing in the tail rotor grip. It literally fell out in pieces with the outer bearing case split in half. I replaced it and it was fine. The symptoms were nearly 90 degree kick outs in anything backwards or sideways.

Speedup gear, that could very well help. Make sure the tail does what it is supposed to do when you switch gyro to rate mode.

I've found this to work for me:
- stock tail
- 14mm servo arm length
- FAI mode, 42% gain
- 95mm SAB T/R blades (MA3696-20)
- 1950 M/R RPM
