Is the "amature" name calling supposed to be a putdown? I call myself an amature all the time. Guess that is a putdown in the R/C heli world? I still need to learn your lingo.

As for the shaft, thanks, but no thanks, you've already given me the shaft twice And I'm not taking the shaft a third time.

lol sorry i didnt realize that you sent one back already and they sent you a bent one again.

Century should personally pull the shaft out and make sure it is strait and send you one. "Quality control"

Im not buying stock mainshafts anymore anyway, they bend to easily from the low grade steel that they use.

No No, read up a few posts, there's a guy there that personally checked 3 random shafts and they were all good. I'm not going to call you a liar, but, he might

these are cheap heli's. I dont expect hardened shafts for the price, BUT i do expect them straight. I had the same bent shaft issue with my hummer cp, now the same again with the pro. maybe it is time that century sent the qc people to have their eyes checked, we cant all be liars can we?

No one, nor I did not call anyone a liar... Anyways, I relayed what I came up with during random inspections of the shafts. The shafts that I checked are good, and the birds that I've flown must be good, the videos where owners got their 3D pro's in the air must be good......

Others here must have gotten their shafts bent, through shipping or a small "boo-bo" in flight who knows, but one thing is for sure and one thing is for certain.... The common thing for a person to do it to call the manufacturer.........

AFrotorhead, has two bent shaft out of the box or a pack, I can't explain further of this unfortunate dilemma, but would like to brush it off and move on.

"Cheap" , my defination is affordable and glad that, there is something affordable in this world for it keeps me flying, this hobby use to be only for the folks that has the dough, well not anymore, because an average Joe like me can get into this hobby without divorcing my wife, just to support my hobby (sorry if this statement reflects someone in real life)

------------- In reality, music wire that diameter is not hard to straighten, I know some of you guys have straighten one or two before. I know, in my earlier days of flying "E" Helis. I straight, cut and made my own. Not one thread out of me, where I bashed a manufactorier (Well, expect one..http://www.bayrc.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=725)

My point is, before I worked for Century, I loved to share in the boards, but it's different now, because there is no good topic nowadays, the guys that post a great modifications, some are extinct, all we read is "I have a problem with this".....etc......

I love to modify, I loved the challenge of it, I love to solve things, to where I create more problems instead of creating a solotion .....

................... It is a pity that you guys main shafts are bent, I wish, I was there with you all in you shop or bench, because a tap from my old tapping hammer, will straighten those shafts in four to five taps......

Sorry Antonio, wasnt trying to be rude. I find the heli cheap, i compare it to the other capable micro which is the hornet at twice the price or the maxir for even more. To me the 3dpro is cheap. I havent bashed anybody. Stating facts. I bought a hummer cp and had a bent shaft out of the box. My 3dpro was the same. I havent jumped up and down about it, i fixed it but consumers have a right to know what they may get. It seems a little odd that 4 or 5 guys here have had the same issue. surely the guys on RR cant be the only ones that this happened to. I know it is you job to stick up for your boss, but some of these issues are real. Century should consider itself lucky that the guys here are being very patient with the 3dpro, i know of other helis that havent been given this much slack with known and unknown issues.

"because there is no good topic nowadays, the guys that post a great modifications, some are extinct, all we read is "I have a problem with this".....etc......"

that issue has to do with posters being deleted, notice some very experienced members are no longer around.

there are many very experienced flyers who i know have 3dpro's and choose not to post, i wonder why ? maybe it is because they choose to say nothing if they have nothing nice to say

Guess the reps don't want to touch this one.

Guess that's why they sent you (genovia). Or did they? I don't think a rep would have answered this post with as much carelessness as you. Who needs to bash a manufacturer when we have you around to give your opinion? Maybe Century should do some damage control and take the keyboard away from you.

I was still a Century customer after the 2 bent shafts. Like I said, I was going to fix it myself. Not so sure now after meeting you that I want to continue to be your customer though. And now, thanks to you, there are probably many potential Century customers that are thinking twice about which "affordable" heli to go with.

Hi, just joined the group. My 3D Pro main shaft wobbles too which I thought was a bit sad before it even left the ground. *sheesh* I have a spare one that came with the crash kit but I haven't checked it for straightness. Who knows, maybe I have the ONLY straight shaft they made! 8^)

They must have sent you their new prototype titanium shaft by mistake . I haven't crashed mine yet, so, I can't say what it will do in a crash, but, unless my glass dining room table top is warped, the 2 shafts I've gotten from them have been prebent at the factory. Thanks guys, but, I prefer bending them myself

mainshafts

Well guys I've been searching for the best main shaft replacement for a long time. I even machined some steel ones down myself, but they bent also. I decided to order the hornet titanium ones from helihobby and see what i could do. Both of the hornet titanium shafts will work with some modification for the Elites. The main shafts are lighter then the stock ones and they do seem more ridged. Both the helihobby titanium shafts are strait as can be, but they are $12 each. I havent had a change to test their durability yet.

You know theres something I found out thats been giving me a slight wobble all along. I would have a perfectly strait main shaft, but i was still getting a wobble. I was thinking that I might have slightly bent my CNC headblock. After lots of testing I found out the bearings that the main shaft goes though are the problem. After a few crashes they become sloppy. Even though the main shaft is strait, and everything is close to being balanced, I still get a slight anoying wobble. It turns out it is the cheap bearings. How I figured this out is I put the main shaft and the headblock into a precision drill and everything spined true. Once I stuck everything into the mast on the heli it was wobbly.

After talking to some people and researching metals, I've come to the conclusion that the best main shaft replacement is going to be a drill bit shaft, or drill rod. They are made from high speed, or cobalt steel. This will alow the helicopter to take a hit and the main shaft will spring back into place just like a knife blade. I talked to Lowell in the hornet section and he runs a custom aircraft drill rod for a main shaft and he hasnt had to replace his yet. I'm currently working on getting some examples and doing some tests soon. I'll get back to you guys. I've been dealing with bad allergies for the last weeks and I can't go outside or anything

Wouldn't it be great never to have to replace a main shaft or have to bend one back?

I have just bought a 3D pro and I noticed that when I turn the head you can see that the thing is off center so I removed the main shaft and rolled it on some glass and sure enough it was bent. This was new out of the box and never flown.
