WOW!!!!!

Wow, I am amazed at the level of stupidity in all walks of life. No Matter how many warnings or reminders that are out there, people will ignore them to satisfy there own needs. First of all what the hell was this jerk doing flying where children are present? Secondly why did he not stop when children gathered? This is not about maintenance of your machine, or your ability to fly. This is about wanting to fly because you have cabin fever, or no other time to fly, so this person thinks it's OK to go and fly in a populated place.Bottom line this guy should do jail time for negligence. We have all seen the people that rush out to the field just to get one test flight in before it gets to dark, or to crowded, these are the same people that don't bother to pre-flight or range check their gear, and you know what always happens... So as far as this incident goes I feel very badly for the poor child and his family for their loss.All caused by some moron flying in a place he should not have been at a time he should not have been.

Results= one dead child
one grieving family
A huge avoidable tragedy
bad press for the hobby in general

So if you see a person like this doing what may be potentially dangerous, please be nice and say something or offer to help them, maybe we can avoid another tragedy in the future.

I get kids all the time when I fly in the common area / park by my place. I keep it to 450 or smaller but still dangerous and usually one kid out has seen me before and kind of "herds" his peers to stay back. They know if they don't I'll land and won't fly / talk to them

The most recent video does look like a plank, a heli could of auto'd

"Let's Play Two"

Too long ago to remember the details - but somewhere in the mid to late 70s, between games at a Wrigley Field or (then) Comiskey Park double header, I watched in awe as someone put on an infield RC helicopter demonstration. There was no 3D, just a lot of circuits, stall turns, and "Running The Bases" precisely landing on each one. The heli and radio technology were ancient by today's standards. There were only 30,000 people in harms way. That demo was followed by some guy wearing a jet pack rocketing himself around the ballpark. All that and cheap beer, too. At least the folks behind the foul ball screen were reasonably safe.
