My Posts This: Topic Forum | Personally I do like to put a prop on an engine and fly it in a fixed wing model to run it in , but you can put it straight in your heli if you like . With an ABN engine , a drop of castor in your fuel is a good idea , especially for running in . One thing that you must not do is to run the engine too rich or you risk it seizing up . This may sound strange , but the ABN / ABC setup has a tighter fit when the engine is cold than at full running temperature so needs to be brought upto working temperature quite quickly . Don't lean the engine out completely , a few clicks on the rich side will do . If possible , run the engine fo a few minutes at a time allowing it to cool between runs, gradually increasing the run time. If you have it on a prop in a test stand , run it on full throttle . A prop around an 11 x 7 or a 12 x 6 should be suitable . Don't waste too much fuel on a test stand , two to three tank fulls will be enough .
At the end of the day , it gets dark . |
