Hi,
I have another news from Norimberk. The MS have 3 Hornet 2 class helicopters. They are called HORNET 2X range, they have modified main frame, direct fit for Twister motor, new battery tray, new tail blade/ tail blade holders (ball bearing) and very nice new canopy.

Hornet 2 X FP

Hornet 2 X CP

Hornet 2 X 3D

I hope you will like these as I am. And I hope I did not waste your time and Mark's memory space

I don't like those new skids for cp and 3d. Canopy is sweet but i thought they will change more things like main frame. Those tailblades looks strange too...

hi all!

ewlllll. those skids look aweful!, but the canopy is nice, looks like a fury!

that tail blade you see there is the new innovation by ms. its a one piece tailblade which combines tail hub and blades together. i have it on my h2 and it has really transformed the tail control as there is no more slop in the tail pitch movement.

bye all!

OMG ... Norimberk ... that's the beautiful city called Nürnberg
where the annual toy fair is/was.

Nuremberg I also read which is a bit closer.

There are other languages than english, remember ...

Bye

Yeah, I thought it was Nürnberg, but I couldn't believe you could get it wrong like this!

Sorry for Norimberk, "Norimberk" is right, but only in Czech language. I forgot to translate it

Why does the FP have nicer looking skids?

Probably trying to save weight. See my gallery for a comparison between H1 and H2 skids.

Razmo,

FP is "beginner range", so there are bigger skids used here...

electromodely,

not a bad theory but it surely makes zero difference from roll effect and aft cyclic.

Razmo: for sure ;-)

You could buy extra landing gear for CP,3D too. It is in dealer's hands: for example - it is no problem to add extra skids "bonus" for me (I am MSComposit dealer).

More interesting are new bigger MSC ep-helicopters (750 and 900mm) IMO.

Hi

You wrote

-------------------
They did change the main frames, it is now made to accept the twister motor with out the need to cut the frame and they also changed the back of the frame so it now bolts on to the carbon plate rather than glues on.
The X 3D also has a new plate on the front of the frame which the battery clips on to verticaly to balence the model as the tail servo is mounted on the tail fin as standard now.

The X 3D has the following new parts compared to the Hornet 2}
New main frame, canopy, Ali tail drive rod, ball raced tail blade grips with a larger hub so bigger tail diameter, three bearings in each main blade grip, new auto unit, modified bell hiller unit, carbon fins, weighted main blades and finally a heim ball in the swashplate, plus the canopy on all models is ready finished including stickers in place.
It's also a little cheaper (at least in the UK) than the Hornet 2 kit as well as been higher spec.

Cheers

When are all these goodies going to be available to us then? (UK in particular)

I hope some of the things such as the tail drive shaft of the H2 are upgradeable to the new X3D versions.

The Hornet X FP will be available in the UK late next week with luck, the X CP and X 3D will be held up for about another week because the instructions are not yet finished, I have been working with MS to improve the English instructions a little!

Regarding X 3D parts on a Hornet 2, I think most parts should be a direct fit.

Cheers

Thanks Bob -- hope you sorted that discrepancy in choice of CA! (German: thin to medium, English: medium to thick in the H2 manual...)

Hi

Bob, do we still have to glue on the cyclic servos?
-----------------------
Yes you do, this seems the lightest simplest most rigid method currently.
If they went to a metal servo frame like Duzi then this would be great but costly and would limit choice of servo's, a plastic frame would probably flex too much.
Use Zap-a-dap-a-goo and you can then cut though the glue easy enough if you have to remove a servo.

Cheers
