Ok Im sure you have a ton of questions. Im just a middle man. I got permision to show this early prototype frame. This is now old technology as the creator of this masterpiece would say. Eddie deserves all the props for coming up with this ridicoulously light T-Rex. I swear he measures everything. He is very talented. This was all home made. Check out the motors new position. Its helps put the CG in the right place. Flight reports soon to follow.

There are kits in the works. I will keep you informed. Its still in its evolution. The final CF frame will be better and smaller. Those are actually just CF plates. There is allot of T-Rex inbetween those plates. Ok well maybe not allot but there is still some of the original in there. The external frame was replaced with CF. I shoud have got a photo on the interior so you can see what Im talking about.

He just cut out the bearing supports and some other key pieces correct. not to make it sound easy as I am sure it took a lot of work. BTW I just finished doing your ccpm mod and its great thanks for sharing those extra weight saving tips. PS you should try 4 cells you will like it

Actually somewhere in the long thread about the 464 gram CCPM T-Rex. The thanks to Eddie got overshadowed. He is the one who showed me how to make a T-Rex like I built. True Im am taking the time to share the ideas and hosting the pictures and bandwidth on my server. I just want Eddie to know how talented he is. Thanks Eddie.

I am looking forward to using 4 cells. Eddie is showing me how to use my 3 cell packs with a stand alone 4th cell that just uses a jumper to be turned on or off.

when you say hand made do you mean like a dremel or a cnc machine in his garage? I meant to say Home made...

it looks sweet, but it did lose its "T-REXness". Are those the final skids and struts? It seems flimsy. The whole thing seems to have almost like a hummingbird feel to it.
The motor placement doesn't look like it changed the CG much. It looks like it's just placed inverted. Over-all nice work though. It could pass for a totally new heli with a different name other than T-REX :-)

He has an entire shop in his garage, the only thing he doesnt own yet is a CNC machine. This prototype is hand made from stock CF. Once you get a prototype the way you like, you get the plates CNC'd in qty. You use the orginals to make the copies. It could all be done CNC but thats just not in the budget right now. We are working on getting kits made. He is very interested and I will continue to encourage him and help to make it happen. The kits will need to be technically within grasp of the average user. You will probably just need a dremel tool and simple hand tools to install the kit. He might just make helis and sell them too? Proabably better off with the kits though I think.

All your feedback will be passed along. Any ideas, comments good or bad are welcomed. I also think the landing gear is not the best. I would like to see it keep more of its T-Rexness as well. Will pass it along.

Is less than 400 with receiver and Gyro and Esc? I didn't see any of those mounted, just wanted to clarify, even if it isn't thats still great, but from the picture without the canopy on the scale it reads 373, I'm assuming the canopy brings it up to 398, but then you still need a receiver, esc, and gyro right? they will unfortunately bring you up at least 30-50 grams right? Darn heavy electronics ! :-( Neat Design btw, sorry to be the pessimistic one who has to bring this all up :-(

No offense taken to any comments. Hopefully they can all be used to make a more popular design. Yes about the electronics, in the pics they are not mounted but for the AUW test we through everything into the canopy and threw it on the scale. So YES it is a sub 400 GRAM REX

The pic is hard to tell but its in there above the battery, the reciever, gyro, and CC10 ESC.

Gyronut,
Let Dr. Jarod do all of the posting, Mr Edward Hyde can keep working
on his enlightening potions!! Seriouslly Jarod mentioned that Eddie doesn't have an internet connection. That's amazing....where does he get all his info from? Hell if it wasn't for the internet I'd still be hovering a Shuttle ZXX with training gear. LOFL

Regards,
Ant
