Tail rotor rotation on Avant with torque tube

Has anyone observed that the torque tube application on Avant changed the tail rotor rotation direction? the standard Freya tail rotor rotates counter clockwise (seen from the right of the helicopter) whilst with the torque tube gear flip it rotates clockwise. Did I make a mistake here?

If not, how do you guys handle this? Simply flip the blade direction? Would I need to also flip the bladeholder installation so that the ball will also be at the trailing edge?

The tail is on the right side of the machine. The tail blades always work the best going up into the rotor blade wash (the front or the tail rotor should go up and the back should go down.) What side the tail rotor is on is not extremely signifiacnt. There is a difference in the FAI roll characteristics.

The Avant tail is on the right side of the machine, and the tail blades rotate counterclockwise as wiewed from the right.

IDHoverman, both my Eagle WC and Freya WC use the same tube system (and gear) as on the Avant, and both rotate counter clockwide when looking from the right side, i would guess you are missing something.

you actually got it right. My avant with the torque tube rotates cockwise. there is no real difference in which way the tail rotates. I just flipped my blades and flipped the pitch slider ring per Augusto as well to get the right limits on your gyro and it seems to be working fine.

Actually it can be built on either side. It's just a matter of preference.

Since the downwash for somebody that flies mostly 3D is mostly from an inverted flying we decided to use it so that the downwash hit the blades when inverted.

It flies great as installed.

Augusto.

But for my opinion standart plastic case too small for CF tail boom. I tried to install standart case on my CF tail boom and found 2mm difference between two leafs of the tail case. Is it normal?

The CF boom is slightly larger diameter then the aluminum one, but the standard gearbox should work fine, Hirobo makes the twister which uses a CF boom and atandard gear box. i have never seen it in person so i dont know for sure, but its supposed to work.

why bother BTW ? whats wrong with the aluminum boom ?
