My rex has the 400s. Is it possible to do auto's? When I turn the blades by hand, it seems to tight to free-wheel when desceding. Any ideas, or am i missing something? Thanks-----TOM

Folks have said it autos like a dog - presumably due to low blade inertia? Perhaps carbon blades would help...

running a stock setup with the wood 315's or worse off the rubber/plastic blades would likely yield very poor results. A lightened T-rex with carbons would likely stand a better chance, but even then I'm not sure if it would auto as well as a larger nitro heli :-( so my advice is to try not to get yourself in a position where you would have to auto :-) best of luck to you,

I hope carbons help!!! we have done some testing and I don't think I would call it "auto like ****" I would call it "auto like brick!" Haven't had the sack to auto it in FFF to see if transitional lift helps at all.. Maybe as I get bored with it I will give a report on a FFF auto

In a nice breeze, the thing actually autos down like it's under a parachute. You need to have no more than -4 degrees negative pitch though. I'm using the 315 woodies, too.

Now, I'm just talking about the descent. I don't dare to do a full on auto with it, because I know from hovering autos there is no blade inertia to work with. Full down auto is only an emergency measure to limit damage in case your ESC or motor craps out.
