Hello to all. Being very new to electric helis i am surprised at how weak and flimsy alot of these helis are. I have a Voyager E and have broke the tail pitch link, (Part number 70252). This part is rubbish! Is there anyway or any product available to upgrade this weak area? All of the listings i have read have mentioned upgrades for the tail pitch slider or tail cases but not the pitch link.

Please help, as i am sure i not the first to have greef with this weak area.

Double Cheers in advance!

Pitch link

Thanks for your reply Chuck, but that site did not show the part i was talking about. It showed a upraded pitch lever and slide. I want a upgrade for the pitch link, (the little plastic part with the ball link connectors that connects to the balls on the blade grips).

Thanks anyway!

Has anyone else seen an upgrade for the pitch link?

*Edited*I was informed that the tail pitch slider for other helicopters won't work because their too big. Try the Eco 8 Aluminum Tail Pitch Slider part #67715. It looks to be the same size as the VE.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

You can find in the K & S product, and I have friends of mine drill a small hole and fix the little ball with a 2 mm screw, and he is doing loops and rolls without breaking it, it's seemed to be the cheapest way to do so.

I've been watching this post and would like to know a little more. I've just purchased a Voyager E and have had two flights with it. I noticed right off that the tail pitch link is very weak also. What other parts would be required to upgrade to the Eco 8 part # 67715?
Thanks
Mark

My stock JR tail pitch link broke last week.

I read the posts above and decided to replace it with the Eco 8 part 67715 thinking it would be a stronger part.

I just received the new part today and the pitch plate is more flexible than the stock one. It does have a little web under it but seems weaker than the stock part.

The tail slide ring is metal and has two bearings but the supplied ball is to small and needed to be replaced with a JR ball.

Also, the small ball links do not come with the 67715 so you need to order them (67564) and the 2mm bolts.

Unfortunately the Eco links are too tight for the JR blade grip balls so you will have to resize the Eco links.

This mod is MUCH less expensive than the K&S version so its hard to pass up in favor of just replacing the stock pitch link but I dont think it is the answer to the weak pitch plate.

I have not yet had a problem with the stock tail ring so I'm not sure I really needed a metal one anyway which makes all this extra work a little unnecessary.

My main concern is the weak plate since I have already had this failure which resulted in a bent tail output shaft, ruined hub, broken tail control arm support and a MAH carbon blade with grip whizzing over 60 feet over my fence! I was lucky I didnt have more damage to the helo or me!

I will try this new part and hope for the best but I think we need something better.

I drilled out a Futaba servo horn, threaded it onto the slider shaft and bolted 2 short ball links on with 2mm screws through the stock holes in in the servo arm. I left the screws just slightly loose so the links can pivot. Grind the excess plastic so it does not interefere with anything.

Cheap fix (cost me nothing) for a crappy part that I have replace 3 times!

I think this is what Matt was talking about:

I am also looking for a US distributor for this piece. Please let me know if anyone knows of any.

Thanks!

Does Len Sabato carry that part? I saw lots of US distributors for K&S but non of them have that part which is the tail pitch plate. What is the website for Len Sabato? Thanks.

Got my parts thru Len well over a year ago so I don't know if he carries this part.
He was a US distributor for KSJ then although his site (rcmodelsports.com) does not seem to be up now.

I don't see that part in his website. I've looked everywhere in the internet for that part. I wonder why that Tail Pitch Plate set is so hard to find... I haven't broken mine plastic one yet but I think its just a matter of time. The only upgrade I have in my VE is the CNC Pitch Slider and everything works great... so far... and I have so many flights with it already.
