wheel collars will work try 2 per side,.. you can move them in for more sensitivity. the t-rex weighs 568 w/canopy and 1570 apogee. Problem is runtime, 2025-4200 9t pinion, wood 305's and i get 6min 30 sec before the rotor speed starts to decay quickly,.. motor was 125 f and li-po was 120f, any idea why the runtime is so low? i have an apache 2500 charger, could it be that its not charging the batts fully?

Thanks guys.

Jarrod ..

Did you see the thread on rcgroups about putting another regulator in parallel in the esc (was a ph25) . I'll post a link if i can find again.

Unklpunk

Your times seem low. I took the pics after coming back from a hover flight. As the pics show i got about 10-11 mins off the tp2100. Pack is charging now. I'll post mah when done. (triton)

Maby belt to tight ? I've heard there a big power robber. Mine is loose, not sure if it's too loose but check out the pic above. If i hold the lower gear and turn the tail i can get it to skip but it takes alot of effort. I'm going to tighten it up a touch as i think it may be wipping around.

I had +15% (jr radio) expo and it calmed things down a bit today. Had it at 30 but it was too high (like flying the piccolo in the wind). I need to experiment some more.

Yea I did see that. I personally would just use a SBEC if it was really an issue. I cant get my 4 servos to pull more then 1.15 amps max. Thats even holding them a little to stall them. Without any binding they dont draw more then about .85 amps. I fly my lightened rex on a CC10 and have had no issues. I bought a medusa SBEC for the CC10 but havent needed it. The CC10 has worked flawlessly for me to date with all the electronics.

Are you talking about a pheonix CC10? If so you need to read the specs again. Its rated at 1.5 amps.

Features of the Phoenix-10.:

• Extremely Low Resistance (.013 ohms)
• High rate (11 KHz) switching (PWM)
• Up to 10 amps continuous current with proper air flow, 15
amps surge
• Five to eight cells with four micro servos
• Up to ten cells with three micro servos
• Sixteen cells MAX (with BEC disabled)
• Dynamic braking ensures folding props fold promptly
• BEC (1.5A) provides power to receiver and servos -
eliminates separate receiver battery

• User Programmable Features:
• Low-voltage cutoff
• Over-current Protection
• Brake Type
• Throttle Range . fixed/self-adjusting/governor
• Timing Advance
• Cutoff Type
• Soft Start ramp up
• Runs motor in forward OR reverse
• Auto Motor Cutoff with Reset
• Safe .power on. arming program ensures motor will not
accidentally turn on
• Low torque .soft start. prevents damage to fragile
gearboxes
• Auto shut down when signal is lost or radio interference
becomes severe

Jarod ..

Your having no problems with the ph 10 bec ? 240 gyro ? Would be nice to not have to goto the SBEC.

We should build a Sbec unit that has a led low voltage buzzer/light combo.

You still using the tp2100's ?

I used a brass strip (hobby store metal rack) 1/4" x 1/64th i believe.
Don't need anything to thick as the strength is in the curve and the 1/4"
The first one i made up i drilled wrong. Stilll have enought to make 3 more.

Im using the CSM gyro. I like it way better then the 240. But at the time I did those tests I was using a GY240. Yea the TP2100's give me an additional 100-150 rpms over the TP1320. The flight times on my 12 turn, 12 mag, double are13-14 mins with a 1320, the TP2100 delivers 18-19 min conistently. I dont know what to say when I hear some folks are getting only 9 min? Im no expert on BL motors, but I am sure about my flight times. I use the timer on my radio to keep track.

unklpunk is using a himax 2025/4200 i'd guess (from shogun). After the rex is lightened and converted to ccpm as per your thread, i'd think the 2025 is too much motor but it still needs alot of power to run.

My guess. But i still believe there's something else robbing power and minutes. I got 10-11 mins with the cp 3600 today on the 2100.

I like the idea of 20 min flights so i'm going to stick with the 2100's
or is the weight loss of the 1200's boost the flight times again ?

If my magnets would come in so i can order them , then i wouldn't have to speculate . Patience i guess .. good heli saying

t/r belt is not tight, very smooth when turning main rotors backwards, i would think that any drag on the motor would show up as heat, motor temps are cool, batt temps are cool. only thing i can think of is not fully charged batts,..

I reused the stock links for the ccpm, once sized they work well.

Thanks,
