Well I called heliproz and ordered the hydra tork they told me that the ksj starting want that I already had wouldnt fit. So I ordered the hydra tork with the batteries and the mavrikk oneway.

Well they were wrong it fits fine slips right down on the shaft bolts through and clamps tight. Going to give heliproz a call and let them know that it fits perfect, with out any mods. So they can inform there other customers who may have the ksj starting wand and are thinking of getting the hydra tork that they dont have to buy the extra mavrikk wand.

I've been curious if the Hydratork would start the 90's. Do you know?

Yes it will start 90's. Mine has worked perfect even with my OS 91 in the cold.

I also get several trips to the feild without a charge.. My other starters with nicad packs won't do as much or last as long as the hydra tork.

This thing has plenty of power the only complaint is its a little large but I dont really care it should last longer than my other starters and it does the job with ease.

Mavrikk Starter

I just bought one and I'm not very pleased with it.

1. Sounds like the gears are skipping, maybe this is the one way bearing in the wand as someone else mentioned. I'm only starting an OS.50

2 The thing spits grease out all over you, your heli and anything else within a 3'-4' radius when you run it. I was so tickled when it came I ran out and tried and got grease all over me, my radio, the heli, and another person that was there.

I popped it open as instructed by Heliproz to see if I had a missing tooth on a gear tonight. The only thing I noticed are grooves on the back sides of the gears like there is some sort of jamming taking place and the gear mesh loosens up and the backs of the gears get an impact type of load.

Does anyone else have this look to their gears.

The bigest dissappointment is the lack of trueness the shaft has way to much run out and what ever you do DON"T TRY TO USE THE RUBBER CUP. I almost took out my mixing arms when the thing wiggled out of control. Even with the one way directly bolted there is still a lot of runout.

gressy mess

Wow this is an old topic but . I had the same problems with mine it seems to chatter and make a terriable noise like the gears or the oneway bearing. I dont think my one-way bearing is slipping in my ksj if I hold the wand in my had real tight it spins it.

The stuppid grease thing sucked big time I also called heliproz the said the manuf. just stuffs it full of grease. They also said that it would get to a point where its stops spitting out grease and the gears will still be properly lubricated. as far as the gear chattering sound I will try and figure it out.

well mine finally failed.. I did try the one way on another starter and it is not the one way making that noise...

Mine blew the gear train pretty badly.. With that being said it can easily start a 90 sized bird. even a brand new YS

Heliproz are good ppl they will take care of ya.. just contact them and they will R&R your starters I am sending mine in next week for replacement..

BTW I never had it spit grease out all over the place but it sure would be allover the shaft by the end of the day

My engine finally died so once I get the new os hyper 50 I will try it again and then see if it still makes the chattering noise. If so I will check the gears to see whats going on. Today it spit out a lot less mess but still sounded terable.

Here is the deal when you put your batteries in it and run it it sounds fine(no resistance) take your hand and apply some resistance to the starting cone still sounds fine and has alot of power. Now you put it on the heli and its going to sound nasty has the power to start almost anything.

The first two or three times bring a rag with you for the grease that comes out. Its messy and it will stain your clothes.
