This is how I do it, korzry mentions is in the thread above and it works well.
Quote

Here's how I do it with XP.

1. Import .mod file
2. Click Surface tab in Model data window
3. Right click on a piece of the surface you want to edit (canopy in this case)
4. Select "Open texture TEX0.bmp for modification" (This opens the picture viewer)
5. In the XP picture viewer, right click and select "Edit with Photoshop"
6. Edit in photoshop and save

If you're not using Photoshop, you can just select edit which brings it up in paint, but that's pretty useless. Photoshop is super easy easy to make the changes in.

I seem to remember that it puts a copy of the tex0.bmp in a folder within the rmk folder if you can't open it to edit.

Very nice work Vincent!!!!!! Can't wait to see the end result. How many points, surfaces, cylinders do you have so far? I take it the pictures that were taken were pretty well made and I presume most of the model was taken apart to get that much detail together? Are you working with a single multi-view or several?

slow,

RMK is capable of quite a bit as long as you're willing and patient in working it. In fact, it'll do anything YOU tell it to do.

Thanks to all of you for the comments!

I don't use a single multi view but single views.

I tried to use a big view with all the parts on it, but rmk bug and shut down each time on my computer???. So I decide to use single view for all parts, it works well but is a bit bigger in size...
I am not a professionnal with this program and don't know all the tricks.
will learn during this project! hope all of you will like it! I use to work with Autocad and this is completly different!

Don't laugh, but is anyone of you knows how to select more than one point and move it in RMK??? or copy surfaces without mirror it??

Regards

Vincent

@ cadwarrior

It seems that it is not possible to select more than one point in RMK.

Just point by point by point by point .. . . . . . .

greetings

Yep, very limited functionality. When doing the Hummingbird, I ended up with 3 different multi-views.

When I need to copy a surface, I export just the surface (delete all other stuff) as it's own model and then import it to the main model. The key thing is to color unrelated parts differently so it's easier to delete things (also handy for hiding things).

We are having great difficulty with the modeling tool (Reflex Model Editor). We have reached about all the limits of the tool. We have reached the maximum number of vertexes, we have reached the maximum number of faces, we are having trouble with the number of cylinders, we are having trouble with the number of texture mappings and we have trouble with the maximum file size.

The problem is that RMK crashes again and again, and we have to "optimize" the model (make the model simpler with less detail) again and again. So this modeling is becoming a pain. So some areas will get much less detail as we wanted to, but we have to make choices. Nevertheless, you can see below what we have running now within Reflex without a problem, it looks great.

More pics on my site.

Here you can see a quick SE mapping (right side still mirrored).
