Fw_Stingray Heliman Location: Helena, MT
My Posts This: Topic Forum | Thank you all for the kind replies. Although I'm more of a 3D fan myself, my friend Greg thought some easy flying at a scenic location might be just as enjoyable to watch. As it turns out the flying was a little more difficult than I thought. I'm used to flying in big open areas & Greg's request to fly at the beaver pond with many obstacles was a challenge in it's self. As I'm sure you all know, flying an RC heli requires total concentration & taking your eyes off it for any amount of time can be disastrous. At the pond, not only did I have to pay attention to the heli but also the upcoming trees, bushes & sticks that lay in its path. Regardless it was an enjoyable time & thanks again for the compliments.
GMcNair: If you do make it up our way be sure to drop me a note & bring your bird for some flying. We're always happy to meet heli enthusiasts & with 8 of us flying helis there's always someone itching to fly, weather permitting of course.
Xxkiloxx: I do belong to the tigers & my old Caliber 30 currently resides on the bottom of that reservoir you speak of. Last year we had a heli fly-in & although there wasn't a huge attendance a good time was had by all. I'll be sure to let you know the date of this years fly-in & as I mentioned to GMcNair, if you're ever around Helena, drop me a note & we'll do some flying.
