Hi Guys
I would like to confirm that the Clubman 3D UK is in the planning stages
The event will be held at Goole & District RC Aero Club we are hoping to hold the event on one of the days of the May fly-in 2005 we may extend the fly-in over the entire bank holiday so as to accommodate the event.
Please do not bombard me with questions as many of them cannot be answered as we are still planning it.
I am currently the chairman of Goole and district RC aero club. Over the last few years and to the more recent, the club and I have organised what we believe to be very successful Helicopter Fly-ins at the Goole site. This success has attracted pilots from all over the country including many of the UK’s top 3-D fliers, Scale fliers and many spectators alike.
I now want to go one step further and organise a nationally recognised 3D competition for the clubman Helicopter flyers in the UK. This event will give the small guy in the hobby a chance to compete in a level playing field environment and encourage club flyers to enter the larger competitions and move on to greater things. Club flyers can feel intimidated by the thought of entering these large international events even in the lower classes as even the sportsman class of these events are very competitive and produce some very skilful and high-class pilots.
I have already been offered the services of some highly respected people in the RC Helicopter community to help with the organisation and judging of the competition these include Mr Simon Brown, Mr Paul Lison and Mr john Parker. I am still awaiting confirmation from several others.
The rules will be set out to cater for the club pilots and entries will not be accepted from sponsored or recognised pilots who have competed at international events.
This said, we would welcome sponsored and recognised pilots to attend and fly demonstrations and help future pilots with set up tips and general ideas on improving there techniques.
We are also currently seeking sponsors for our event.

As a retailer or distributor of RC Helicopter products you will be helping the people who buy your products the club flyers.
If you are interested in becoming part of our competition by helping with prizes or being our main sponsor please don’t hesitate to contact me.
As I have mentioned please be patient and all will be revealed in good time please feel free to post your interest in the Clubman 3D UK to give us some idea of how many people are interested in attending and competing

Best Regards Biggen

i have a question, on your website paul it says the competition is not for sponsored or recognised pilots, i've never competed before i am a club flyer, but i have recently along with rotorhead above been given sponsorship by quick uk, would this mean i'm not allowed to have a go??

cheers

The organisation of this event is very much in the infancy.

We are working on the details ATM.

Are aim is for a competition for the club flyer. Maybe we need to change the wording abit.

What we don't want is the likes of say Duncan Osbourne turning up to compete So maybe we should change the criteria, to NO high profile Flyers ??

We want to encourage new talent here. So Gareth and Rotorhead, I feel sure you are just the guys we are looking for.

Hope this helps

Yeah!! New talent!!! that means young, handsome! and a good pilot to boot!!

In other words!...... the opposite of you!! Old, bald and fat!!!

My heli's will start on demand, first time!!!! and well you know it boy!!

Best thing to do Dan is get your heli's repaired as i know they ain't flown much this year with them all being on the repair bench as they are so disgraced with themsleves that they tried to hide in the mud like an ostrich!!! Don't fly untill Sometime in May and when this event is on you'll have sumat to fly!!!

Great idea or what!!??

Stick with me Dan and you'll go places!!

Great idea, and something we have considered in the past. Congratulations on your initiative and Skyline will be delighted to support the event.

It'll be great to see the emerging talent, and I'm sure it'll be an entertaining weekend.
