Hi Dnam ,

Yes , i made a mistake , it's www.icare-rc.com .
So far , i had a shogun and i help people every week seting up shogun and TRex . Those two are real nice for beginer but need a lot of upgrade and HV setup to perform for someone who like 3d . There big disadvantage are the weight !!! they both weight too much !!! i gave the shogun to a kid in the club and i now have two Maxir .

To have a decent response on the cyclic on the shogun , you have to run the head speed around 2500-2800 . That is where the tail shaft brake in flight ( append twice ) or the tail pinion .But if you are a beginer and run your hs at around 2100 , it will be fine . Still , the cyclic response of the Maxir and the climbout are something to remember !!!

The Maxir feel very precise out of the box . Like i said before, it's like a micro logo10 . Fly great witout upgrades . It's +12 -12 stock with hs55 servos . With my shogun , i had problems going more than +8 -7

In terms of parts , i get everything from Etienne ( oups , Icare ) . So far so good for now , but he is the only North american distributor . This helicopter is manufactured by a small company in Cz . If this helicopter grow in popularity , who know what will happend. I already know that Like90 will make blades for it , so it's good news .We are 5 or 6 guys who bought it in Montreal ,so , we also share parts between us .

By the way , in two crash that i had , the only thing that i had to replace are the main blades and blades holder and the motor pinion . The main shaft was bend a litle but it's a plain shaft , not an empty one like the zoom/shogun , so , it was easy to fix .

Anyway , i am verry happy with it , i can finaly trust a Micro !!! if you have more questions , feel free !!! ;o)

Thanks guys!

The more I look at the videos the more I am inclined to buy it! I actually already shot off a few e-mails to get a few quotes shipped here to the US. I used to live in Europe (Hungary + Ireland) for 16 years so I really like European products - they seem to be more refined.

This heli hobby is just so addicting wouldn't you say? I have not been in the hobby for long but already have a Shogun, T-rex and a big Freya X-spec!

So when I order what spare parts do you guys think I should order as well? I love to crash like I said!

Also did you guys see the 4-bladed version? Looks really cool! Sigh... Seems like another I will need to buy next year!

This is what what they wrote in an e-mail:
Quote
The machine, we presented at Modelhobby fair is pre-production sample.
Now all mechanical setup is complete.
We are waiting for new blades (which should fit better) production to be
started.
We suppose, the machine can be released to the market in Q2/2005.
Price was not set till today.

For technical enthusiasts:
Notice, we have 3-blade tail rotor to compensate higher torque of 4-blade
head.

Best regards
Jan

MaxiR in the US?

dnam,

I have 5 MaxiR's at this time. I will be keeping 2 for my self and will sell the other 3. I also stocked up on a bunch of spares, crash kit's large, and small and most every part you could break or bend. I am located in Novi Michigan.

The first one I built is exactly the way they recommend HS 55 cyclic HS 50 tail. There speed control and AXI 26 along with TP 1320 battery GY 401. Fly's very nice completely stock .

JP Rapter,

Tell me what is your head speed on your model? I tag mine with the suggest setup and I got 1900rpm.

I will buy a second model for my backup. I will change servo from Hitec to MPI. MPI are more faster and have more torque but a bit heavier. My heli will be 6.9g more heavy but the torque is 23oz and speed are .008.

To funny model!

Dnam

My suggestion for spare parts is:

crash set large Y2560 (main blade, spindle, main shaft, skid, main grip, blade holder lever, pushrod with ball junction)
collective mixer Y0311
main shaft hardened Y0319
tail drive Y0175
tail boom Y0176
tail shaft Y0204
pinion 18 teeth AXI 2pcs Y3518
cross head shaft Y0303 (spindle)
stabilizator wire Y0306 (flybar)

The good think on this model is the plastic pinion, when you crash, you don't strip the main gear only the motor pinion and tail pinion drive gear. And they cost less than 10$.

I receive this setup chart from Laheli.

Setup chart Maxir

I bought a new Maxir and I will try new MPI servo. More faster and stronger than Hitec. The screws fit very well in the servo tray.

MPI MX-50HP (I'll put MPI servo on head and tail))
Torque 23 in-oz, speed .08 sec , 0.86" x 0.43" x .78", .weight 32 oz, top BB (19us$)

Hitec HS55 (Head)
Torque 16 in-oz, speed .14 sec , 0.9" x 0.46" x 95", weight .32 oz no BB (17us$)

Hitec HS50 (tail)
Torque 11 in-oz , speed .09 sec , 0.82" x 0.44" x .86", weight .22 oz no BB (23us$)

Let youk now after hollyday

Each Model Out Of The Box are good.

Hornet II need some upgrade to do hard 3D. It's a bit touchy to adjust the tail..All the servo need to be glue.

Maxir is ready for Hard 3D Out of the Box. No pain no glue Just add electronics and let's go.

Also, I am living in Hong Kong, does anybody know is there any retail shop selling this model?

For the moment only a few place retail this model. Looks at this post for the resseler.

Furthermore, what is the cost of crash??

The aproximative cost of a crash is about 45us$. Spindle, main shaft, main blades, main grip, pinion, skid.

I have 2 big crashes on mine and I never break the main frame, skid and boom. Very stiff model.

I'm very impressed and satisfied with this model.

What is the outer diameter of the tailboom ? Maybe I'll convert things from my duzi tuned up hornet 2, if it fits...

Do you think the microheli swashplate from the hornet 2 will fit the maxir ?

They suggest the axi 2208/26 but i have the 2208/20 will it work, its 1880 rmp/v in stead of 1470 rmp/v of the 26 think. probably need a smaller pinion.

What is the outer diameter of the tailboom ?

The outer diameter of the tail boom is 8mm

Do you think the microheli swashplate from the hornet 2 will fit the maxir ?

I think it will not fit because it's not the same design. Look at here

i have the 2208/20 will it work

If you used a 3S Batteries, you need to put a 15 teeth pinion and lower your Throttle curve to 85% max. It will spin at about 2400RPM at full throttle.
