Received mine couple of weeks ago, I added couple of pictures to my gallery.

It has been a bit slower to assemble than I expected. (My old Gy401 also had a broken wire, which prevented my test flight during last weekend)

This one seems to have plenty of power with AXI 2208/26 .. Today I was running it in my hands 2100rpm with maximum pitch!

I still have to finish the setup to my radio and mechanical setup for the tail is not finished yet.

I had one on order to,
my setup will be:

Maxir kit
Etech 1200ma 3S 10C batteries
Axi Motor 2208-26
Paddle 3D
3 servos Hitech HS55
1 servo Hitech HS50 rudder
berg receiver
Schulze ESC 11.20e
Futaba 401 Gyro

Someone suggest me the Kokam 640 3S to do hot 3D.
I saw a friend this weekend with a Maxir and it was very tweechy (difficult to control). I think it's setup was not finish.

I will post here my impression, picture and my video to let you know about this heli. Because they don't have any Maxir channel for the moment.

See you soon!

Yes, I think that I am ready for test hovers now.

.. The problem is that it is dark and cold outside; -10 celsius degrees and only 4 hours 32min of daylight.

We will have indoor flight session during saturday; hopefully after that I have had my first test flights.

My setup is very similar to yours;

Maxir kit
Kokam 1500mAh 3S batteries
ModelMotors AXI 2208/26
3 servos Hitech HS55
1 servo Hitech HS50 rudder
Schulze ESC 11.20e
Futaba 401 Gyro
GWS 8ch receiver

Hello,

Today I had my first flights with MaxiR.

Flying weight is 415g, nothing is especially light, or lightened. With 1500mAh kokams, I got about 17 minutes of flying time. Mostly hovering and getting used to a new heli.

It was really stable in hover. I like the way it behaves. I really cannot compare this to anything since I have only flown ECO Piccolo FP and CP in this size class. That would not be a fair comparison

When I applied full pitch quickly, the tail seemed to 'slip' .. I think that there is still something to be improved in tail setup. (Or the outrunner engine is simply too strong.. I had my schulze ESC in expert mode -> fast throttle response)

It seem that your Gyro is not enought higher.

My friends readjust his Maxir and I tried it this morning and it was very stable. I will receive mine next week and I will do more test on mine.

Let you know very soon!

Hi every one ,

I am also the pround howner of the Maxir . I got it from Icare in Montreal ( www.icare.com ) . Etiene , the howner of the shop , whent to a RC show in europe a month ago and took around 500 picture of sail planes and planes . He also took 2 pictures of the maxir ( you can guest what he really like ;o))) . When i saw those two pictures , i told him that i whant one . He got six kit and they were gone in the first week .

This machine is amaszing ... i had 2 hornet II , shogun , picolo , humingbird , etc ... i fly logo10 and Eolo . I can compare it to my eolo in stability , but it's more agile stock . When you look at the desing of it , you can see that it really nice and there is a lot of small details that counts like :

Carbon boom holder
Tail ball link
Full tail gearbox
Delrin gear
Bell hiller
Motor placement for cooling
Clip landing gear
Batterie shelf
Gyro shelf
Verry , verry rigid frame
Gellcoat fiberglass main blades
Tail servos holer

There is almost no glue anywhere ... it's all screws ...

and so on ... i will post picture and video tonight !!!

Hello everyone.

Today I got some more flying minutes with MaxiR.

Now the setup seems to be complete. I got a bit more headspeed by increasing throttle channel travel. I also disabled hovering throttle & pitch knobs from radio, those were affecting my schulze ESC governor speed when changing pitch. These together were causing my tail holding problems.

Now everything seemed to be working fine, and MaxiR was a real pleasure to fly.

Hello Humppe

I'm glad that your model flying well.

I tried my model this morning in a indoor gym and it was amazing. My first fly was (forward fly, backward fly. nose in) very stable. My head speed was 1900rpm with the original plastic pinion. I will change for a faster pinion to do 3D 2400rpm.

Tomorrow I will take some picture and video and will post it.

I'm very impressive with this Out of The Box model!!

Serge...

Nice video RochelauD,

I think Nick was very nervous on this flying. It's not so easy to fly indoor. Not to much space, but very good for skill

Very nice flying Nick.

rocheleaud,

Isn't that supposed to be www.icare-rc.com? This looks like a really impressive little heli. I have a Shogun and a T-rex, maybe it's time for another one (haven't gotten myself anything for Christmas yet)? How does the Maxir compare to these two?

Is there any other place selling the Maxirs? Any in the US? How about spares? Are they readily available? I love crashing... Thanks!
