I noticed while looking on a website that a tool manufacturer, Wiha, offers precision screwdrivers in what looks like #000, #00, #0, #1

Now aren't these sizes for JIS? is it coincidence?

If any one has them, Are they infact JIS standard screwdrivers? How do you like them?

Thanks!

btw: Link here.

Wiha tools are made in Germany and JIS (Japan Industrial Standards) tools are made in Japan. The JIS screwdrivers are made specifically for Japanese cross pattern heads. Most "Phillips" screws on foreign manufactured products are JIS crosspoint screws. The cross pattern on the tips of the JIS screwdrivers have 90 degree corners, unlike the more-rounded Phillips corners in the US. The numbers #000, #00, #0, #1, #2 etc are tip sizes. All screwdrives have these numbers no matter where or who makes them.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

If your helicopter is from Asia, then you should use them. I have a set of JIS screwdrivers from heliproz. They fit perfect and I will use no other screwdriver for my helicopters. Here is the link to buy some. http://www6.mailordercentral.com/he...cts.asp?dept=50

I have what is allegedly a set of JIS screwdrivers, also from HeliProz, and I haven't found anything they fit correctly YET. A previous discussion here on this topic, some time back, showed that I am not alone in this observation.

I've built over a dozen different helis, most of them Jap machines, and the Wiha #1 Phillips worked beautifully on all of them. Wiha tools are top quality, and you cannot go wrong with them.

The Wiha #00 fits those tiny screws on the Concept which secure the balls perfectly. The #0 worked great on the same type of screws supplied with the Sceadu Evo.

If you must have a set of JIS drivers, I'll sell you these three cheap. Of course, I'll have to get the big one back from my buddy; he's using it as a chicken stick to start his planks. I was glad to finally find a use for one of them...

I have the blue set from HeliProz, and they are the ONLY drivers that I have that fit my Hirobo copters. Standard phillips just don't work worth a damn . . .

the tools that Jensen and Heliproz carry are made by Hozan and distributed in the USA by Ikas Incorporated.

I'm trying to decide whether or not to bother buying the Hozan's from Ikas's site. I'm now leary since people have had qualms with the tip wear on them.

A set of 4 drivers is $16.10 + $15 shipping

I've been looking over Wiha's site and haven't found the JIS screwdrivers

I just got a Moody JIS #1 and it works great. It could use a larger handle though.
