I was just wondering if any1 had any stories about helicopters injuries?I just wanted to know how badly someone can be hurt by an r/c helicopter crashing in to them.(Carbon Fiber traveling at 1,800 rpm can really do some damage) So please share with me your heli injure
stories.

I grew old to fast

twelve years ago, after everyone had told me never to spool up my blades while holding the tail boom, i spooled up my blades while holding the tail boom... on the hardwood floor in my dining room. i had just rebuilt my shuttle after a crash, and it was getting dark, and my car was blocked in, and it was only going to take a second, and blah blah blah. pitch curve was too steep, shot up 2 feet, down collective stick, shot down 2 feet, boom strike with my thumb in the way. the main blades slammed into my knuckle and knocked my hand back so the tail rotor could take another whack at my thumb. the heli disintegrated after it had chainsawed its way through all the dining room furniture legs while i bled and got my girlfriend to come hit the kill switch on the tx (there are so many wrong switches to try first when someone is in a panic). my neighbor called the paramedics, who misunderstood and thought i'd been drilled by a real helicopter, and all these cops and fire trucks showed up at the house expecting to find someone decapitated. my girlfriend drove me to the hospital in agoura, ca. two broken thumb bones, a bunch of stitches, and physical therapy for 6 months. i have a picture somewhere. now, may i have my moron award?

2 years ago my friend was spooling down his xcell
and lean over to slow the head down and the main blade
hit him.
He still has the dent in his leg bone.

Hand injury.

EXCUSE THE CAPS BUT MY HAND IS BROKEN AND I GO FOR SURGERY TOMORROW.I CAN SEND YOU PIC'S,LOL.HERE'S HOW IT HAPPENED, DON'T LAUGH.I SE TO HOLD ON TO MY TAIL BOOM WHILE I WOULD RUN UP THE BIRD TO TEST WHERE MY HOVER POINT ON THE RADIO IS SET.YES, I KNOW THAT'S STUPID.ANYWAYS I HAD DONE SOME SERIOUS MODS TO GAIN SOME H.P OUT OF IT.WELL IT WORKED AND I KEPT HITTING THE THROTTLE BECAUSE I COULDN'T BELIEVE HOW GOOD IT SOUNDED.WELL GUESS WHAT?I DIDN'T TIGHTEN MY BLADES AND WHEN I BOUNCED ONE LAST TIME OF THE GROUND (LIGHTLY) THE BLADES FOLDED AND HIT MY HAND RIGHT WHERE I WAS HOLDING THE TAIL BOOM OUCH,OUCH,SH@T SON OF A B_TCH!!!WHAT PAIN!!!I ALMOST PASSED OUT!!!I WAS MORE CONCERNED THAT I SCREWED MY HELI UP.I HAAD TO WAIT ABOUT A HOUR BEFORE THE DIZZINESS PASSED SO I COULD DRIVE HOME WHERE MY FATHER IN LAW WAS WAITING TO TAKE ME TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM.WELL I LEARNED TO TIGHEN MY BLADES ANDDD OH YA DON'T HOLD THE TAIL BOOM WHILE THE BLADES ARE SPINNING!!!!LOL.....OH BY THE WAY, IT HIT MY RIGHT HAND BETWEEN THE 3RD AND 4TH FINGER DOWN TO THE BONE AND MID WAY UP THE HAND.MY HURRICANE CF BLADES,MAIN SHAFT,HEAD SPINDLE,TAIL BOOM , FLYBAR , TAIL TRANNY SHAFT AND TAIL ROTOR (WHOLE UNIT) IS ALL THE DAMAGE THAT HAD HAPPENED,LOL ENOUGH THOUGH....
