I'm planning to buy a new carb for my OS 50 as my 40E isn't working fine. Too much trouble with it. Wonder what carb would be the best to go.

60B but it is not a cheap option. $120 new and around $50 used but it is well worth it in my opinion.

Thanks mudbogger2. Are you refering to this one:

CARB 60B OS61SX-H WC- THE LATEST

Where can I find it at that price. Ricks has it at $135. I will buy it if necessary. I'm really tired of this engine. I want my heli running fine.

TowerHobby has them for $119.00 plus you can usually get a cupon for $10 off if you look around.

Also it is usually cheaper to buy a used engine that has the 60B carb. remove the carb and sell the rest of the engine.

mudbogger is right, should be easy to find an old dead OS60, and just take the carb.

Makes way more sense than paying big bucks for a new one.

Thanks. But would like to know if this 60B carb is the best way to go. Would also like to know the part number for this carb. Not sure about buying a used engine.

Thanks you all,

Carlos

I think Heli Proz has the 60B for $109

They work great on the 50.

Hi,

OS27081000 ist the OS 70/60K carb. I don't know whether it's any good on the 50 though.

OS Carb

The 2 carbs to use are the 60B 3 needle carb or the 60L carb.

I use the 60B. Setting a 3 needle carb is more complex than a 2 needle, but if you follow the 60B carb directions, you'll get it adjusted in 1 tank.

The 60L is what comes with the new OS 50 Hyper. The carb body is slightly shorter, but I doubt there are any issues with a std 60L carb.

To get a 60B carb cheap, buy a used 61WC. Carbs usually don't wear out. That is how I got mine for my OS 50 and my 40E was never installed on the engine.

60LH

Both OS EVO and HyperHead comes with the 60LH carb (OS p/n 29083020), different carb body compared to std. 60L (OS p/n 29083000).

And yes some might say I got to much sparetime having time to sit and compare those 2 carbs exploded views

60 b

I currently have a fairly new carb (60)b and am asking 50$ + shipping. My 50 stock carb took a dump and was running lean so I bought this monster and What a DIFFRENCE. But be prepared to buy lots of fuel.

Fuel Consumption

What? 60B regulates fuel much better than the 40E. I get 15+ minutes on my EVO and header tank.

I also noticed slighlt longer flight times with the 60B vs. stock, 60K and the Supertiger carb. Also felt the 60B was the most powerful and responsive of those.
