Look at HPI, a multi-national corporation with tons of resources and lots of experience in the r/c car business. They acquired the Kalt line of helicopters and announced big plans for the future. Then, all of that simply went away, with no explanation.
I was told that the economic realities of reviving and further developing the line shocked HPI upper management when they got into the meat of planning and saw the actual numbers involved, and decided quickly to cut their losses and dump the idea.
This is hearsay, albeit from a good source, but hearsay nonetheless. However, it began the same way this is going; first, all the advertising got pulled. Then, any and all references on the firm's site disappeared. |
