I can't download the video. It comes up with an error message as soon as I click on it. Is it just me or everyone has the same problem?

I don't know... but it could help to download the K-Lite codec pack.
You can see many types of movies with it.

Here's the link.

http://www.k-litecodecpack.com/

Goto Klite codec packs - download - Get the 2.27 full version.

Fantastic.

Hello everyone,
I have just last Thursday received the PCBs for gyro post-processors. I spent Friday finishing off the firmware and doing test flights with HeliKalle who was here for 3D Masters. We flew until it got dark and couldn’t do any more tests but everything seemed ok by the end of the day.

I am personally very pleased with the results and I was happy to be the camera man for the tests since HeliKalle could fly my Raptor. We don’t have any good heli pilots at my club and I rarely get this opportunity.

I will start puting together the rest of the modules tonight and I will post some photos of the modules too.

Here is a photo from the first 10 modules (after the 4 prototypes of course). There are 4 potentiometers on the module but don't panic... they are easy to tune.

First you set you set your gyro's ATVs to max (if they are adjustable) and gain around 70%.

The first two potentiometers on the post-processor module are the top and low end ATVs for the camera mount servos.

The 3rd is the gain. You just rotate that until the mount starts oscillating. Then lower it a bit and should be fine.

Finally the fourth pot is the same as the tracking function of the GY502 and GY601 gyros. If the mount does not stop the same way on both sides then you tweak this pot a bit to take out the asymmetry.

I will do some more test flights tomorrow to verify that everything is ok.

Angelos, so what's the scoop with these?

I have a helicam solutions with the 3X modification. Does one use three of these boards with 3 gyro's for true tracking?

Give me an idea of how you expect this to work. It's an expensive setup if it requires 3 heading hold gyro's. But may be interesting!

Rich,
yes you need a gyro for each axis plus one of these modules that converts the rotation rate demand signal that the gyro generates to position demand that the camera mount requires. As I mentioned in older posts the gyro servos must run in closed loop which means that they should not be modified for continues rotation, or if modified, the potentiometer must be fitted on camera mount instead of inside the servo.

Angelos,

Your web site only seems to have the campac stuff. I do not see any of these other 'products' on there.

If a person wants some of your work, how do we find details about it besides via this forum?

Thanks!
