Well it looks like I have to buy Rays MHT video on setting up the heli and radio. My question, is it worth the money? Thanks Rick.

I've got the video and gleened a ton of info out of it. Also have his book. Gives a person two perspectives on the process.

Cheers, Jim

Good investment

I live in an area where I have know one else to teach me the ways of Helicoptering. When I was in the beginning stages of the hobby I bought the Video and found it to be most useful. It has become dated but most of the information is good.

I say buy it. For what it's worth I have lent it to 2 other local guys and they learned more than I could have taught them.

Ive got the video and cannot get through much of it with out falling asleep. As a beginner, I was lost with the information, now with over a year of flying I think I could get more out of it if I can stay awake.

I live in an area where I am pretty much flying by myself until lately. I have purchased two sets of RAYS video's so that I can loan one out to a new beginner and I still have one for myself! It helps to cut down on the questions that a new beginner might ask.

Hey! The Nexus 30 is not that big is it? That video can't be good if they teach you to hover your heli behind ya.

I'm also the only one in my area flying helis. I have Ray's video and would say it's a good video for a beginner. Some of the equipment is getting dated, but the information is the same for new gear. I like to read or watch everything I can on helis from people that know what they are doing. It's a lot better than trial and error. A lot cheaper too!

Rod, with Simulator like G2 would help with your trial and error without cost for crash parts.. and disappointment.. Video helps too if you have high speed internet. there are many heli videos you can download..

Hi Naomi,
Yea have G2. I'm convinced the simulator time was the main reason I was able to teach myself to fly.
If a person wanted to save as much money as they could in the beginning, I would say forget all the videos and books and get a sim. The heli manual will get you a machine that will fly. The videos and books will teach you how to fine tune everything. Rod
