My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Does anyone know if the CSM 540 is suitable for a gasser heli.
Its going in a Futura SE 1.8 with a zenoah g23 engine.
Would be gratefull for any help.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I'm running a 540 on my Bergen gasser. Three or four other guys in our group also. We have had the best success mounting the gyro on two pieces of CSM tape, the sticking a G10 plate to the bottom of the gyro, then two more pieces of CSM tape between the plate and the heli. The gassers can be pounders until the motor breaks in.

I've found CSM gyro's to be quite finicky with Gassers. The CSM's don't tolerate vibration very much and will probably wear out the metal gears in your servo's (if that's what you are using) in short order.

I had very good luck running the JR 900's, they aren't heading hold but worked great in my gas helicopters.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		Go into your gyro with a interface and set the vibration setting to med then if you still have problems set to high. I used mine on a gasser for a few months and it worked great. I still think its a good gyro there are better out now but these things are hard to beat. Don't be afraid to change some of the setting in the gyro.

I think i will give the 540 a go. Bob Johnston is going to test fly it for me, so i think he will notice if the gyro can handle it or not.
