My Posts This: Topic Forum | Well I think it was Eric's idea, but I sure did enjoy it. The event was an intermediate 3d freestyle competition. But here's the twist: each entrant was paired with an expert pilot. And we had some of the foremost experts in the country here this weekend. This allowed some invaluable one on one time with someone very knowledgeable, and the cost was only a bit of fear of flying in front of an audience (well and a raptor rebuild for Scott). They went through and did a setup check, gave suggestions for putting together tricks into a routine, gave tips to improve your aerobatics, and helped with the kind of mindset to keep during a competition (have fun, fly what you know, and don't try new things here!). You're working towards a goal together and building some good comraderie. Thanks to Abel for the help he gave me. Hope to see more of this kind of thing at future fun flys!
