My Posts This: Topic Forum | assurance has a new relationship with cermark, and cermark was presenting and selling align products. a couple of align pilots were in the booth to answer questions. i have attended the show as a vendor rep for almost twenty years (mostly with cermark) and this year was much better than I expected, I think better than last year, and certainly better than year's past when there was some real garbage filling the booths. I don't think the model airplane economy is great, but in talking to many of friends who run RC companies things aren't too bad - in some cases, things are pretty good, and some that are "pretty good" are pretty high end. Last year I saw very few people walking around with "kits" - this year (yesterday and today) I saw many.
Helis weren't very visible, Century was the only display dedicated to to helis, and there were no heli parts available - but it's a lot easier to sell a replacement prop for an airplane than a main gear for a specific heli. the show does have something of a flea market feel to it - some mfrs were displaying new products, but overwhelmingly it is small companies selling their products, or using the show as a big storefront. If you know not to expect a lot of helis, you won't be disappointed. |
