I live about an hour north of Muncie, no rain but the clouds look like snow, and its been 60's for the highs. Supposed to warm up each day from now on though.

Well... it's Thursday night and I'm done packing. All equipment is in perfect working order and all batteries are fully charged. I leave for IRCHA 6AM tomorrow morning and should be in Muncie in time for the noon demos (4 hour drive from Grand Rapids Michigan).

Yahooooo!!! ... my first IRCHA event. I'm so geeked!!!!

I have added a few Thursday end of day photos. I spent most of the day flying (burned 5 tanks).

Just got back from the Jamboree for the evening (live close enough to drive).

A full size heli did a demo. I think it's the guy that owns an rc fuel company... Jerry was his first name I think. Amazing.

The noon demos were awesome. Alan Szabo Jr. was great, then he went SO low inverted that he needed new blades

Kam Wyatt (sp?) flew 2 different Predators, nitro & gas, like they were on rails.

Len Sabato did an FAI demo. That guy flys soooo smooth.

A couple others whose names I can't remember were awesome too.

Later in the afternoon, first one, then two full size stunt planes did a mini air show across the flight line, including a low fast pass along the flight line at something close to 15' off the deck.

After that, Jason Krause and Danny Szabo each did a flight with a Raptor 30 or 50... Those guys can sure make the little Raptor dance.

Then, Curtis did a flight. There is something about his flying that is mesmerizing. At the end he did that thing where he climbs until the heli is out of sight then auto's it down. Sheesh...

Almost forgot... A lady.... fly's for Bergen, I can't believe I forgot her name. She can hang with any of the guys. She is outstanding.

Ron Kummer & company sure do put on a great show. Can't wait to see what they have in store for tomorrow.

Nice Report

That was decent reporting on what is going on. Thanks for informing us on what is going on at Muncie. Sounds like I need to make plans for next year. In a week we have Owatonna, MN Rotary Ring Out. That should pacify me for a year.

Continue the reporting of the days events. Might seem like nothing to you if youve been there. It is interesting though to a heli newby !!

jcoahran,
I couldn't go to IRCHA this year so I didn't see the full scale chopper, but looking at the pictures Mark posted it was Jerry Conley (President of Wildcat Fuels). Chances are he was flying the 1958 Bell 47 he just spent the last 18 months reconstructing. He literally took that thing apart to the last nut and bolt. There is a nice article on it at his companies web site. The woman Bergen pilot was Malorie Zastrow. She flies her 33% Edge 540 just as well! She is the president of the club I fly with, the Michiana R/C Choppers. We are having a fly in at the Watervliet (MI) airport this coming weekend.

What's the second heli from the right, the blue one? I'm assuming it's a thunder tiger being as it's on the thunder tiger stand just wondered what the canopy was? Looks pretty cool, big, but cool
