HELP-FAQ Usage Problems and Errors
 | Usage Problems and Errors | |
 | Cache, Cookie or Connection Problems | |
Most RunRyder site errors are related to cache, cookie or connection problems.
Please read the information below to resolve Cache, Cookie or Connection Problems.
Cache Display
When you hover your mouse pointer over myHome
(above left) you will see the current member name and current day/date/time
(based on
Edit Options Time offset).
The date/time info is also displayed in all page footers.
If your browser is displaying incorrect or out of date data, do a Ctrl-F5
or a Ctrl-R refresh. Next you should delete your temporary internet files
(
How to Clear Your Cache) and off line content.
Your ISP could also cause problems by caching RunRyder’s pages.

Automatic Page Display.
Cookie Login
To login to RR cookies must be enabled.
This browser setting is usually found under its privacy category.

Cookie Logout
The RR logout link is located at myHome and on the bottom right of the home page.
To fix logout problems you need to search for and delete all RR cookies
(
How to Delete Cookies).
Locate your cookie directory(s) and delete cookie files with names that contain
"runryder". After deleting all RR cookie files, reboot your computer.

 | Post Tags Errors | |
RunRyder Post Tags can be used to help design the way your message looks.
It is a set of tags based on HTML, but unlike HTML, it is based on a simpler
syntax that will never break the page layout of RunRyder. To use the Post Tag
buttons,
JavaScript
must be enabled.

 | Photo Display and Usage Problems | |
If you encounter errors with photo uploading, MyFastPhoto, or Clipboard,
it is likely a cache problem. First, try a "View Refresh" by pressing Crtl-R or
F5. If the error still persists, try deleting your temporary internet files
(cache) and off line content:
How to Clear Your Cache.
If you encounter a "Document contains no data" error when uploading photos,
you might have a slow or flaky route to RunRyder. To debug your individual internet
route to RR, go to your personal computer command window (go to Start - Run, and
then type in "cmd"). Type the following into your Command Window: C:\tracert runryder.com
This is an example of a fast connection (+150 ms would be slow):
 | My Gallery Display and Usage Problems | |
If you encounter errors with gallery scripting or photo uploading it is likely a
cache problem. First, try a "View Refresh" by pressing Crtl-R or F5. If the error
still persists, try deleting your temporary internet files (cache) and off line content:
How to Clear Your Cache.
 | PM Display and Usage Errors | |
If your browser is displaying incorrect or out of date data, or you received
an email notification that you have a new PM, but the new PM does not display in
your Private Messaging area, you probably have a Cache Display Problem.
First, try a "View Refresh" by pressing Crtl-R or F5. If the error still persists,
try deleting your temporary internet files (cache) and off line content:
How to Clear Your Cache.
Your ISP could also cause problems by caching RR’s pages.

 | Missing Inbox PMs and Save Copy | |
Replying to a PM in your Inbox with the
Save Copy
option checked (the automatic default) will move a copy of the
original Inbox PM and your response to your Sent folder.
The Sent folder contains your complete PM conversation including date and time for
each part of the conversation. Your original Inbox PM is removed from the Inbox
and placed in your Trash folder. This process is done to avoid duplicate PMs in
your Inbox and Sent folders.
Nothing is lost by default. The sent folder is the key focal point of PM work done.
Go there and click the number next to the member name to review or reuse older
PMs associated with that member. You can move any conversations in the Sent
folder to specific folders you create.
Unchecking "
Save Copy" keeps your original pm in
your Inbox. RunRyder does not recommend doing this because you will not have
access to your reply words.
Replying multiple times to sent PMs can be achieved by editing the "Recipient:" field.
**RunRyder PMs are automatically deleted three years after they were created
and sent. If you wish to keep something permanently, please save a copy to
your personal computer.
 | Pages Scroll to Top when Pressing Back Button | |
Pages set to not be cached are creating the problem.
Only some browsers have this problem and
sometimes clearing your browser's cache helps.
No cache pages include the Home page (always) and any page where the

link is flashing or the
NEW SUBS
link is displayed. Clicking these highlighted links will subsequently
return the page to the normal cached mode.
Thus it won’t jump to the top when backing into it.
